Marquee matches of the weekend are Carr vs Hall in the WVU dual and Bastida vs Bonaccorsi in the Pitt dual. Add in HWT in the Pitt Dual if they wrestle Pitzer.

Even if WVU wins the swing weights (157/174) I don’t think that dual is close. I think we win both 157 and 174 and have it at 29-4, giving up bonus at 125.

Pitt Dual we will need to win 157 and 174 (among others). I’ve got it at 21-9 ISU (Pitt wins 125, 133, 141). I’ll take Yonger at 197 and Sam at 285 even if Pitzer wrestles.

Would love to see Casey win 141 on Friday to give him a boost heading into wrestling Matthews, I just can’t see him winning that one right now (though it’s a huge opportunity for him).

Thoughts?

I'll play along. I also had the WVU match at 29-4, although it would not surprise me if it was kept closer at 125 than a MD. I have us picking up bonus points at 184 and 197.

The Pitt dual is 19-12. Pitt takes wins at 133, 141, 197 and 285. We can get a win at 125. Carr picks up a MD at 165. If we lose 125 and go 5-5, bonus wins the dual. On the other hand, if we can get wins at 133 (as some have projected against Phillippi) as well as 197 (Bonaccorsi is there to be had) and 285 (even if it is Pritzer), this will look pretty one-sided. If the match were in Hilton I may be more inclined to give us a larger win.

Pitt dual is going to be tough. I’d be awesome to see a win at 133 or 141. This will be a good weekend test for Johnson, he tends to wrestle everyone really close.

I agree with this. I cannot see him putting up major points on opponents with his current style. I think that he is solid on his feet, but, much like Swiderski, he lacks the mat wrestling skills - a common issue with true freshmen. And he seems to allow opponents to hang around. I woudl have to go back and check, but I think that he has multiple matches that have gone into SV. Not a good strategy.

I haven’t been able to all his matches but it really stuck with me after the Utah valley dual. He was only able to get 2 take downs against an unranked guy. Hopefully it’s just freshman things. He gets good shots but can’t seem finish through on most. He’s incredible tough to takedown which is why his matches seem similar to heavyweight scores

Pretty sure we should get it with YouTubeTv . Going to check it out when I get home from work .

Pitzer will wrestle UNC, ISU and Nc St then decide if they will pull the redshirt.

Apparently UNC/ISU on Friday/Saturday only counts for 1 freebie against his RS?

Per the schedule, WV dual will be on ESPN+
