I left Des Moines at 7am and everything was fine. Arrived in Isla Mujeres around 2 pm. What the hell happened? I hope my house is ok.
Your house is fine, but all of your stuff is gone.

Same with me. Honestly, the worst commute I've ever had.
It took my wife and I to get from Westown Parkway to Ankeny 2.5 hours and we took University all the way across Des Moines to 2nd Street. It was crazy. There were cars on University right out side of the Valley West Mall that couldn't get up the hill going West. The best part is the people behind these cars were pushing them up the street, so they could make it up the hill next. It was a total mess.
Just saw that there was a 30 car pileup on I80 by Waukee and a 25 car on 169 near De Soto. Must have really sucked!
I noticed none of the weather people have commented much.
We've been busy. Traffic is still a complete mess in the metro. This image is from about an hour ago.

I'm currently sitting in a parking lot in Jordan Creek, and I need to get to Ottumwa sometime tonight. (work tomorrow) Every single county I need to drive through is under this blizzard warning. I could get to Johnston and ride this out with my in-laws, but the only way I know 100% is taking the interstate to Merle Hay.
Time to pull out the map to save up on phone battery.
I am glad I am in the middle of this crap. Any word on how the Cerro Gordo/Franklin area tomorrow?
