I left Des Moines at 7am and everything was fine. Arrived in Isla Mujeres around 2 pm. What the hell happened? I hope my house is ok.

Your house is fine, but all of your stuff is gone.

Same with me. Honestly, the worst commute I've ever had.

Worst commute I've had in 6 years of working in the metro.

20 minutes turned to 1:45.

I had to run lights or else I'd lose momentum and my car would get stuck going up a hill.

It took my wife and I to get from Westown Parkway to Ankeny 2.5 hours and we took University all the way across Des Moines to 2nd Street. It was crazy. There were cars on University right out side of the Valley West Mall that couldn't get up the hill going West. The best part is the people behind these cars were pushing them up the street, so they could make it up the hill next. It was a total mess.

Had the same drive but we took University, 86th, Hickman, Merle Hay, 66th to Ankeny. Took about the same amount of time. But we saw the cars near Valley West too

It took me 3 hours to get from downtown to my apartment on Park Ave via George Flagg. GF was a freaking nightmare.

Jordan Creek to Ames took a little over 2 1/2 hours. We should have left a 3 PM instead of 4:30 PM. 46 mph was top speed and that was just south of Ames on I-35.

Lol, you would think this was N. Carolina or something calling 2 inches of snow a blizzard. :wideeyed: Anyway the snow mostly fell apart/went east before reachingOttumwa.

I noticed none of the weather people have commented much.

We've been busy. Traffic is still a complete mess in the metro. This image is from about an hour ago.

I'm currently sitting in a parking lot in Jordan Creek, and I need to get to Ottumwa sometime tonight. (work tomorrow) Every single county I need to drive through is under this blizzard warning. I could get to Johnston and ride this out with my in-laws, but the only way I know 100% is taking the interstate to Merle Hay.

Time to pull out the map to save up on phone battery.

Instead of complaining, you should be thankful that you have an excuse to not go to Ottumwa.
