Big12 WBB Saturday game update.

Baylor crushed K-State at home 85-49.

Texas vs OU, KU vs WVU are currently in the second half. Both Texas and WVU have double-digit leads. I was hoping for an upset but it doesn't look promising.

Great job by OU, never lead in the regulation, came back to upset Texas in OT 68-63.

If we beat KU next Wednesday and Texas loses to Baylor (most likely), we are guaranteed a top-four finish in the final league standings.

Madi Williams only scored 3 pts in today's game. The gap between Ashely and her on the season scoring average keeps widening. It'd be safe to say Ashley will repeat her Big12 scoring champion.

Except for two games (6 pts @ UNI and 11 pts @ Tech), Ashley has never failed to score less than 17 pts in any game this season. That's incredibly consistent and reliable, just like a Toyota Camry. ;)

OU wins 68-63. UT missed their last 9 free throws . UT with 3 players fouled out & OU had 2. Poor Longhorns play BU on Monday.

What this does is move us to 4th and UT to 5th, unless they beat Baylor on Monday night. Regardless, we have most likely have to play them in the opening round of the B12 tourney in the 4/5 game.

Is it possible we end up in 3rd, yes, but that means WVU has to lose their last two games and even though they are both on the road and down a player. WVU will win at KSU, especially since KSU has to play TCU on 3/1 and WVU on 3/3, where as WVU does not play again until 3/3.

Baylor is first, we cannot move past OSU (OSU is done for the regular season), and if WVU goes 1-1 in their final two we get this:

1. Baylor 17-1 (wins out, currently 14-1 with three left the most losses they can have is 4, so they will win or tie for first.
2. OSU or WVU 13-5
3. OSU or WVU 13-5
4. ISU 12-6 (defeat KU on Wednesday)
5. Texas 11-7 (they are currently 10-6, losing to BU and beat TCU) If they win both and finish 12-6, they have the tiebreaker over us with two head-to-head wins and get the 4 seed.

None of this changes the fact that ISU is not yet locked into the 4/5 game against Texas.

We'll know a lot more around 8:30 on Wednesday night.

Just curious, does anyone know why hasn't Big12 rescheduled the OU vs Tech game which got postponed on Feb. 17 due to the severe weather? Tech has that game left and hasn't played since Feb. 24. Meanwhile, all the OU's remaining games are at home (Thursday vs TCU and next Sunday vs KSU). I see there's a window on Monday or Tuesday. OU needs all the wins they can get to give a shot at the NCAA tournament.

They're playing Monday night in Norman.
