Coach A made some very good points. One issue I see is many players look at two things,1. play on a team that wins championships consistently (UCONN, Baylor etc) 2. want to play majority of minutes. This can be a problem with a team with a number of good players as you only have (most of the time) 200 minutes of playing time a game. If you played 10 players that would be 20 min per player but we all know some will play more than that so a few are getting less. Then family or former coaches get in their heads and into the pool they go.
Play 60 minutes and keep fouls at 5. Deep bench wins and players play.

I understand Geno's frustration, but IMO the system coaches have created is the reason for so many kids are in the transfer portal.

Most P5 athletes live in a bubble, separated from the rest of college students. They live separately, eat separately and study separately.

While the investment in things like ISU Athletics Student Performance Center has its benefits, I also think it segregates student athletes and if they struggle athletically, the decision to transfer is the natural escape.

Katie Dinnebier of Waukee has received two Iowa's biggest HSGBB awards. I understand she committed in fall 2019 and she's not at the same level as previous award recipients in Ashley Jones or Caitlin Clark, but have we given her a serious look back then?

Big news from OK-State. The Big12's most improved player last season is entering the transfer portal. Didn't see this one coming. Rumor has that Baylor is going after her. Thoughts?

Kinda figured both Jensen and Meyer would be transferring to mid-majors. With the S. Dakota schools and the MV schools there are some pretty good options for Midwest gals. Just for fun spitballin', but I thought Meyer as a UNI/Drake but missed on Jensen as I kinda thought she'd go to one of the South Dakotas.

OK-State's Ja'Mee Asberry transferring to Baylor. Baylor has made up for the loss of Moon Ursin.

Last year it was Vivian Gray to Tech and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for OK-State, but losing Asberry is certainly a huge blow to Jim Littell's program. Hope they can find her replacement.

She's been teasing the announcement for a couple for days. Did see the rumor she was headed to Baylor. Doubt that will be addition by subtraction like Gray's move seemed to be especially with no Mack still on the roster.

Pre-season picks by the Big 12 coaches later this year will be interesting with the order of Baylor, Texas and ISU. Not that it matters but with the upheaval of coaching changes and transfers I'll be more interested than normal in their predictions. Think in a couple of years OU will be back in the top group, maybe sooner. Dat pun was unintentional. ;)

Because of the increasing interest in hiring a female head coach to lead an NBA team, New York Times just published an article in which Dawn Staley and Muffet McCraw give their opinions from different angles.

Staley is confident she can lead an NBA team, while McCraw advocates more females should be coaching in women's sports.

How soon do you guys think a female becoming an NBA team's head coach will happen?

If you are a female fan reading this article, your take on this subject is especially appreciated.

Interesting hire by the Baylor WBB.

Chloe Pavlech is a former Maryland standout and has been a big social media entrepreneur in the past three years. She's well-known as "Overtime Chloe". Will she become Baylor's designated recruiting coordinator?

Pavlech comes to Waco after three years in Brooklyn where she led a myriad of social media content for multiple entities related both to basketball and off the court. Her work includes being a content creator for Facebook, where she was selected to be in the company's first Black Creator Fund, "We the Culture." There, she produced, edited and wrote scripts for characters in "Confessions with Chloe."

She also was the Lead Content Strategist for OvertimeWBB, which became the first women's sports account to reach 1 million followers on TikTok. OvertimeWBB boasts the largest women's basketball media account on Instagram.

In addition to her role as Lead Content Strategist at OvertimeWBB, she was also Talent & Head of Women's Sports at Overtime, where she was the host of the Snapchat original show, "Hype School." Hype School produced more than 2 million subscribers, averaging 1 million views per episode.

She also served Togethxr as a Talent & Emerging Platform Strategist as a programmer for the fastest growing sports account on TikTok. Pavlech served as on-camera talent for Sue Bird, Alex Morgan, Simone Manuel and Chloe Kim's media company.

In addition, Pavlech served as a color commentator and sideline reporter for the University of Maryland on games airing on BTN from 2018-20, at the AAC Tournament in 2019-20 and for American University from 2018-20.

Pavlech was a four-year letterman at the University of Maryland, where she participated in two NCAA Final Fours in 2014 and 2015. Pavlech helped guide the Terrapins to a combined 119-22 record in four seasons under head coach Brenda Frese.

From Maryland, she transitioned to a graduate assistant position at perennial power Connecticut for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

Having somebody young, engaging and that media savvy could be a huge boast to keep Baylor buzz alive in the post-super coach era. Probably a big asset for NIL stuff.

Going to be interesting to see if what Kim built is sustainable post-Kim. I was at first a little skeptical but may be leaning more towards yes. Going to be interesting to see how the first year goes.

Yes, Sustainability is possible. Personally, I'd rather see them come down to earth a bit.
