That was one of the weaker decisions that I've seen, but it worked for OSU FB, so why can't the Hawks do it.

chickenshit decision. When have protests/violence/riot ever been at an airport? And they are traveling after the inauguration would be over.
Totally agree. Baltimore is nowhere near downtown D.C. Neither is the University of Maryland. Overreact much.

Rutgers/Iowa Sunday also postponed. By Rutgers. Covid. This certainly factored into the Maryland game. This would have been a two game east coast trip. Iowa cancel came later after the Rutgers part of their trip was cancelled by Rutgers. Maybe they will try and work these back in with one east coast trip later.

Big12 Wednesday Night Game Results:

West Virginia beat K-State 65:56 at home. The Wildcats led the Mountaineers by 12 pts with 4.5 mins left in the 4th qt, then WV stormed back with a 21 to 0 run to end the game Unbelievable.

Baylor unleashed their wrath on the poor Okie State court 77:58.

Texas hosted TCU and got a bounce-back win as expected 71:54.

Tech is trending upwards by handing Kansas their first Big12 home loss 75:65.

Watched the last qtr of the WVU K State game. WVU put pressure on KS in the backcourt and made the comeback. Almost no fouls called with lots of contact and KS coach got tossed with just over a minute left when he went after the officials verbally. With homer announcers and them not being near the floor no explanation on what set him off. IMO it was a lack of calls in the pressure WVU was putting on. May have to watch the replay at the end to see if I can see the non call that set him off. Watched Baylor/OK State and OSU was cold shooting most of the game and Watched end of the TT/KU game same TT was hitting and KU was not last 3 minutes.

WVU went on a 21-0 run to end the game (from a KSU 56-44 lead with 4:36 to go to a 65-56 WVU win). The KSU article doesn't even mention their coach getting tossed, while the WVU article says it happend, but not why.

West Virgin media did mention in postgame that last season when WV played K-State at home, they led by 18 pts with less than 7 mins left in the 4th qt, then K-State went on a 24 to 5 run to win the game by a point. Maybe karma;)

Interesting notable from wbb from Thursday:

#11 Michigan's Naz Hillmon scored 50 in their 77-81 loss at #17 Ohio State yesterday. She went 20-30 from the floor, 10-14 from the line with 16 rebounds. Only three other players for Michigan even scored (14, 8, and 5 points). UM was 2-20 from deep (no attempts from Hillmon). All five Buckeye starters scored in double figures.

Every other ranked or higher-ranked team won their games on Thursday.

(From WVU): Martinez just knocked the ball off the KState player during an inbound play to give us the ball. Jeff Mitty went absolutely ballistic and got technicals and kicked out of the game.

Gaston and Warren are out for Tx tomorrow. Gaston for the season some type of foot/shin surgery, Warren for concussion protocol, but not a full concussion according to Surly Horns,

Well, that's kind of a big deal. Especially Gaston , she had a really good game versus us in Austin and that's one less big to deal with for Cyclones tomorrow.

This and that from Friday's wbb slate:

Illinois State gained a "win" when Evansville forfeited their game. Must have been a last minute decision on the part of Evansville to cancel. From the (brief) Illinois State article...
The Purple Aces released the following statement in regards to their decision:
"In consultation with medical professionals associated with the program, the University of Evansville women's basketball team is unable to play this afternoon's game at Illinois State and will forfeit the contest."

Former #1 (current #5) Stanford dropped their second straight game, losing at home 70-66 to #6 UCLA. Seems like the one area where the Pac 12 remains strong is women's hoops with four programs in the top 13 (five in the top 30 NET rankings).

After getting ranked for the first time in program history last week, Washington State has lost three in a row. Of note, their coaching staff is made up of everyone's favorite Kansas State crew: Camie Etheridge (HC), Deb Patterson, and former KSU player Laurie Koehn. All three losses were road games, two against ranked opponents. Next up, AT Oregon State, then two home games back-to-back against Stanford. 0-11 Cal would have followed Stanford at Wazzu, but the Bears are on an extended Covid hiatus. The Cougs are looking for their second-ever NCAA tournament invitation.

Drake lost at Missouri State, 73-72. MSU led by 13 as the 3rd quarter ended. From what I can tell, Drake hit a contested shot at the final buzzer than would have forced OT, but the shooters foot was on the 3 point line resulting in the final one point margin.

The TCU vs Tech game is just over. TCU had a strong 4 qt and came back with a win 61:53.

That completes a 3 Texas team round-robin mini-series with Tech beating Texas, Texas beating TCU and TCU beating Tech, all at home.
