Y'all should show a little mercy on Houston and let them have this one just for being everybody's dart board. They deserve at least two wins this year.

This is about as automatic a win as you'll see in conference play. UCF and ASU are are on par with the other worst big conference teams but Houston is alone as thee worst major conference team in the country.

I am hoping they don't get too cute with lineups with the idea of resting people and end up messing up the flow the core six or seven have going right now. (Unless someone is actually injured.)

They still have UCF at home, a real toilet bowl situation.

Big agree, we have not had much success going to the bench outside Harris.

Houston has a 2% chance of winning. I think that is mostly based on the fact you can't completely rule out half of our team coming down with food poisoning this afternoon but that should really maybe be more .002% to cover that sort of thing.

Just a reminder…I’ll not be seeing the game until late this evening. TTSS will probably not appear until morning. Have a fun concert to attend tonight in this balmy weather!

Houston actually had 13 players on the roster to start the season.

0 Leilani Augmon G 5-11 R-Sr. San Diego, Calif. Silver Creek HS/Troy
2 Kierra Merchant G 5-7 So. Spring, Texas Westfield HS
3 Gigi Cooke G 5-8 R-So. Upper Marlboro, Md. Bishop McNamara HS / Maryland
5 Maliyah Johnson F 6-0 Sr. Columbus, Ohio Africentric Early College / Pitt
8 Summer Bostock G 6-1 So. Toronto, Ontario King’s Christian Collegiate/Maryland
14 Laila Blair G 5-8 Gr. Houston, Texas Waller HS
15 Kateri Poole G 5-8 Sr. Bronx, N.Y. South Shore HS
20 Tatiana Arevalo G 5-9 So. Frisco, Texas Reedy HS
21 Kiera Edmonds F 6-2 So. Brooklyn, N.Y. Brooklyn Law & Tech/Wagner
22 Avalon Miller F 6-3 R-Sr. Salt Lake City, Utah Riverton HS / Gulf Coast State Coll.
24 Eylia Love G 6-1 Gr. Kansas City, Kan. Olathe North HS/Louisville
25 Ashley Chevalier G 5-7 Gr. Chatsworth, Califl Sierra Canyon HS/Texas Tech
42 Peyton McFarland F 6-4 5th-yr Boise, Idaho Boise HS / Utah

October (preseason):
Lost Johnson to an ACL tear
Lost Poole to an ACL tear
November:
Edmonds apparently left the team without appearing in a game
Lost Miller to an achilles injury in Q2 of the season opener
December:
Somehow avoided any roster issues
January:
Augmon broke her nose against Baylor Jan 17th, requiring surgery Jan 27th and keeping her out around a month
Chevalier has been unavailable for personal reasons starting with the Cincinnati game on Jan 28
February:
Arevalo, who had only appeared in one game despite the roster issues, left the team Feb 5th

As I mentioned in the Houston preview thread, Chevalier is no longer listed as out for personal reasons, so she might be back for this game. Augmon is listed as returning mid-to-late February.

UH is playing just 6 players. Wow...that's gotta be tough to win no matter how good the team is. Now with this team it's going to be a struggle to stay within 25 tonight I think.

Is the 2024-2025 Houston Cougars basketball program the biggest discrepancy between their men and women’s team ratings/rankings in NCAA history?
