Snowy Wednesday musings:

Kansas is 7-11 overall and 3-9 in Big 12 play having beaten only OU, KSU and TCU in Lawrence. They are 7-3 at home and 0-8 on the road. Last game was a 77-66 loss at Manhattan. NCAA NET is #98.

Their freshman Mia Vuksic tied a school record for eight 3-pointers made in a game in their last game. Team only shoots 30% though and the two gals that shoot the most of them hit around 27% +/-.

They only scored 18 points in the first half of last game. I'd like to see us hold them down early and bury them. We already let one game against the bottom five get away from us and we need to finish 1-9 over that group.

They are sort of just below the median in Big 12 on defense and offense. No really good or standout bad at either. OSU (twice) and Baylor held them to under 60 points. Not expecting us to do that but would be good to keep them in the 60's.

Some of my pre-game thoughts

1) I know, I know, it's not like a rivalry on the men's side. But the sisters got to be a little pumped up playing in the historical "Phog" especially the freshmen for the first time.

2) It'd be interesting to see if Coach Fen would keep the same starting 5 as the TCU game. Get a fast start and play downhill and score over 70 pts would be the likely scenario to win this game.

3) KU will definitely key on Ashley and Lexi. It'd be interesting to see if Lexi can back up her performance and have another double-digit score. Emily is back in her home state again. Hopefully, she will play a better game than the KSU one.

4) Will someone not named Ashley, Kristin, Leix or Emily step up and have a huge game for us? Will Izzi be playing in the final minutes of the game?

5) It's the peaking time now. Treat every opponent seriously and play to the level this team is capable of, good results will follow.

Let's go Twister Sisters!

Decent 1st quarter. Kansas is playing well, gotta give them some credit but they already have foul trouble.

If you did not have a dog in this fight you'd probably be entertained. It is quite "watchable".

Jayhawker broadcast team is doing a good job.

First time I've seen a continuation given where a player was fouled, dribbled once more, and then shot it.
