Just got flights to Europe for May. It's a great time to go with how strong the dollar is. The first time I went it was around 1.50/1 now it's around 1.06/1.

Yeah man! Were getting tickets and hotel to Florence for $1200.00 for 4 nights for 2 of us. $600 a person? That's cheaper than Vegas.

I was thinking you were just talking about the hotel. That's a heck of a deal for flights and hotel.

Would like to go next spring. Should see if I can check to find out what I spent on flights in college. Seems expensive now.

nope, current pricing for very similar time frame and 1 stop both way (had two on way over) is $60 cheaper. Pretty similar to pricing ~6 years ago.

Hoping these prices hold up until I get home from work and can get my passport number.

That is definitely cheap, but if it's cheaper than your Vegas you must go all out when you go there. I've been 3 times & never spent $600 on airfare & hotel.

Maybe I'm very wasteful but spending $600 for airfare for 2 and 4 nights in Vegas seems like the opposite of going "all out".

He said $600 PER person. You can get 2 people to & from Vegas in a nice room for under a grand. Easy.

For sure! I think we are doing the bridge with the markets. Maybe going to Rome for a day. Any suggestions? We will be there is February.

A couple weeks ago this trip would have been 3k. We recently took our honeymoon to Jamaica because a trip to Europe would have been too expensive. It's a big deal to me no matter what the cost.

I'd go out of my way to spend a couple days in Rome. I've been there twice (total of 7 days) and it's my favorite in Europe. The other big plus is that it's not expensive because you don't need to take tours, pay to go see things, etc. You can just walk around and be amazed.

If you plan on taking rail from Florence, I'd recommend stopping in some hill towns along the way like Orvieto, which is a stop on the rail.

Bologna is another option. As a motorcycle fan, it was very cool to see the Ducati factory.

If you haven't booked tickets yet don't rule out open-jaw.
