Very cool "yet sad" video of Deon Silas

  • After Iowa State won the Big 12, a Cyclone made a wonderful offer to We Will that now increases our match. Now all gifts up to $400,000 between now and the Final 4 will be matched. Please consider giving at We Will Collective.

After watching this Deon has became my favorite Kid in the 2021 Class. The father in me wants Deon to succeed in every single way possible at Iowa State both on the field and in school. He deserves it. Our house will definitely be rooting for him.

Great kid! His life could’ve turned out like his brother’s. He will be great addition to Cyclone football.

Thanks for sharing that. Kid has been through a lot. Can't think of a better coach and family than at ISU to help him achieve his fullest potential in football and life.
I'd guess either 2 or 8 is a jersey he'll wear. Maybe 1. Depends on who leaves when.

He'll probably start out like 25 or something

So true. There is a funeral this morning for a Des Moines high school basketball player who was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people doing the wrong things. And he paid for it.

I'm so glad that Deon seems to be making it through and doing well. Hope the Cyclone family will be a great support for him as he joins us.

89 is available - he could drop the 9 later. And there probably won't be the problem with the refs confusing #88 and #89 like there was last year. ;)

28 will be available after this season!

Great to see a kid overcome such adversity.

On a side note he's not Spud Webb short, he's Muggsy Bogues short.

Great story. Sad yes, but glad he's a Cyclone. We will enjoy watching the pocket-rocket!!!

His 247 page says 5'6
I can’t think of seeing a college football player that small. There’s been some great small guys but he looks shorter than any I can remember. Maybe his teammates are very tall. Hope he kicks ass and take names.
