Too bad UNO can't move up in football also and join a conference like the Gateway with UNI. That could be the beginning of a good rivalry.

This simply won't happen even if the money issues could be worked out. Osborne has supposedly said that he wouldn't exactly jump up and down at the prospect of UNO fielding a FCS level football team. That alone kills any possibility of it happening. The BOR will fall in line with Dr. Tom's wishes. The powers in Lincoln don't want the possibility of a program in Omaha presenting any potential threat to the stranglehold that the Huskers have over the state.

Trev won't make any move that ruffles Dr. Tom's feathers. It's a different story with butting heads with Creighton. Look no further than the Soccer proposal. Men's soccer is one of the flagship programs for Creighton while UNL doesn't field a team.

Looks like the bigger AD boosters are starting to withdraw their support.

Part of the problem is the main pages of boards like this never promote wrestling. You have Jon Reader outstanding wrestler at the Big 12s and undefeated #1 seed at Nationals and I don't think anything is ever mentioned on the main page of this site or many others. We asked and got a article on CycloneReport.com about Jon, but for the most part its men's and women's basketball and football. This is fine, I understand they are the revenue sports, but when good things happen in wrestling, they need to be posted for others to see. GOOD LUCK Jon and the rest of the CYCLONES in Philly this week.
