At the end of the year, both fan bases will be wondering "how in the hell did EU beat ISU?"
Not really. Everyone will know one team determines their success on the year based on one game, while the other plays in the toughest conference in the country and has goals of winning meaningful games in March.

Indiana was 9-11 and made it last March. It's like a cut line in golf, they are going to take half the Big 10 regardless of records. No 10-10 teams last year so they went down to 9-11. ;)
We were 7-11 in conference last year when the committee selected us.

Our 7 conference wins were probably more impressive to the committee than the 9 B1G wins by Indiana. Not bothering to look them up, but I wouldn't be surprised if our conference wins averaged 20 spots higher than the Indiana B1G wins.

While Fran's pose in this photo is pretty sad, it's the actions/expressions of his two assistants that show how cringe worthy this moment really is.

You realize we got absolutely stomped by this $hitty Iowa team, right? Looks like we could've learned a thing or two from Fred on defense. That's weird.
Yep we got smoked by Iowa.
Basketball is a season and postseason, not one game.

Fran's teams haven't played defense since Gesell, Woody, and Uthoff graduated.

Even those guys were below average defenders...but better than what they have now.

No doubt about it - we did not show up to play. Hoping that lit a fire under our team for the rest of the year.

Yeah I get it, but I think we need to keep that in mind before we jump all over Iowa. They didn't just beat us, it was an epic beat down. They exposed our West Virginia-style foul-fest defense. If you can pass and handle the ball, our D is a smokescreen. Need to move past that.
Our Defense got us a Sweet 16 last year.

Someone want to explain to me how KenPom still has Iowa higher than ISU?

At 10-10 that EIU loss will keep them out. The loss at Nebby dropped Iowa’s NET to 68, a 10 spot drop.

Whatever you say Ron. I think it’s clear that TJ has done what he’s had to do to be competitive with a very limited roster. the talent level in the program is about to get a significant upgrade.
