I don't think Fran does a good job of working the officials. I goes from 0 to 11 too quickly. He needs to work up to his antics a little more slowly like Izzo and others do effectively.

That's because he is not working the officials. He is just losing his temper. Zero emotional intelligence.

Bill Self works the officials. That guy knows exactly when to get a T in order to change game momentum and get the refs back onside.

I could defend him when we had Garza, because even though you mock him for it, he was really good at feeding the post, which some players aren't good at. He also knew his role and didn't shoot much and played decent defense, decent rebounder for his size and was a good ball handler. This year's team, he has no role.
He's never played decent defense. It's simply that his back-court running mate set an even lower bar.

His rebounding rate last year was basically the same as every guard on the team. Of course he didn't shoot too much, his EFG% was trash. Him shooting at all is him shooting too much. His defensive rating was 12th out of the 16 players on the roster last year.

He existed to give post feeds to Garza. That's it. That's not a good player by any stretch of the imagination and IMO every minute he's on the floor is a detriment to the team.

The post feed thing is ridiculously stupid. It's D1 bball if you can't find guys that can feed a dominate post like Garza along with being remotely capable in a couple other facets of the game then you're a horrible coach/recruiter. Teaching a D1 athlete to make a pass to an all time college player sounds like coaching even I can do

Whoa, whoa, whoa...he also is good at full-court baseball passes. That's the kind of specialist every team needs.

Current status and projection of top 50 NET teams: Baylor will play 17 Q1 games to lead the nation. Iowa State, Texas and Tech all right behind at 16, then Kansas, Oklahoma at 15.

Michigan leads B1G with 13, Iowa comes in 8th in B1G (30th overall) with 9 Q1 games (already 0-5, on pace for 0-9).

I hope ISU can get to 8-8 (or better) in Q1 (currently 6-4). In Big12, Texas still has 10 Q1 left so hardest remaining.

That is kind of what my thoughts are. Star power will get them in unless they get some Q1 wins somehow and make it on merit. Star power matters a lot to the selection committee. In 17-18, a pretty average OU team went dancing because they had Trae Young. This Iowa team is pretty similar except Keegan Murray is no Trae Young. Still a star though, who will be averaging north of 20 ppg and probably a 1st or 2nd team AA. If they continue to struggle against Q1 teams, but take care of the rest and go 20-10 they will probably make it in the Last 4 In would be my current prediction. Keegan gets a guaranteed game in front of the March Madness audience and an outside chance at 2.

That OU team has some high quality wins though didn't they?

I didn't even realize I was blocked by Dakich. I have a solid string going of calling out Dakich and Chad Lestikow for various reasons and they both blocked me lol.

THIS shows the one sided delusion of Iowa fans. Saying Keegan should return because THEY want him to return and calling out Kenyon because they are not poor and thus don't "need" the NBA money.

It's posts like these that make me wonder why people refuse to have a filter. Not everything you think of is brilliant or should be said. I don't always agree with Kenyon and the way he engages with some fans, but what he said was spot on. Good for him.

I live in the same area as the Murrays and had a chance to meet Keegan and Kris a few times. They were both very kind, humble and intelligent based on the interactions I had with them. This Hawk fan trashing them clearly has some issues of his own.
