Joe will have a legit shot at getting drafted but Garza has Europe written all over him.
True, but just getting the evaluation isn't notable imo. The idea is to get on NBA and Euro scouts radar for that year or in future when they graduate. Every player with it as an option should go every year and see.

More telling of the state of EIU program is if only 2 players are worthy of putting their names in the draft. Then again that is the way Fran wants it.

Why would you say no? From the website you listed,

According to NCAA rules, however, any kind of workout you attend on an official visit cannot be organized by the coach or coaching staff. Typically, the workout will be led by the team’s captains. Take this opportunity to see if you connect with your potential teammates.

I don't believe the coaching staff can watch these workouts either, as Dad implied. But I am not a recruiting expert.

I just recall there was a dust up several years ago when it came out that Self's office just "happened" to overlook some basketball courts where the team would play with recruits.

So the dude is calling out 351/353 D1 head basketball coaches? Cuz apparently the fans aren't the only ones who "didn't turn on the tape"
We're spoiled with the guys we have covering ISU. 247 is the industry leader in recruiting and they still can't find a normal person to run their site

Way up there
Yeah, the "undiscovered gem" thing is pretty much ancient history.
The only way that happens if its some kid who has only played the sport for a few years or is from overseas or something weird that like. Otherwise, with 350+ teams, a handful of coaches/recruiters on each team, that's over 1000 people who are out there scouting kids. That's not counting the numerous independent scouts that work for the recruiting services. If the tape was so good, someone besides Western Illinois would have seen it.

Is it not possible for someone to cover Iowa athletics that isn't an Iowa fan?
In the eastern Iowa climate? Hell no! If you’re even an ounce critical of Iowa athletics, they’ll call for your head quicker than everyone did for that guy from the Register for digging up Carson King’s old tweets.

Should change thread title to “Year” instead of “Day”.

Edit- "Decade" would also work.
