i really wouldnt be surprised by anything in this game. If we won by 20, no shocker, if we lost by 20, no shocker. I think we have the better team, but they play well at home, and it is a rivalry game. I predict we win by 10, but anything can happen.
This is kind of how I feel. In all honesty, I expect us to win this game. IMO, that's a good thing, not overconfidence as some might call it, just looking at the first game for both teams, I saw one team who was dynamic, mixed it up on O pretty well and scored points. The other team didn't look very good.
That being said, this is the first real test, imo, of this team. As much blasting as I saw on here of Iowa fans hyping NIU, I've seen plenty of times ISU fans doing the same thing in years past. And even partly this year. Yeah, Tulsa is a decent team, but they are still CUSA, it's not like we beat a BCS team. So in the end, I think a lot of it still hinges on our QB play. I like what Jantz did in week one. I still need to see more though to really believe he got the turnover bug out of his system from last year. A couple of ill thrown balls and we could be down quick. Plus it is a rivalry game. And look what happened last year. I'm sure Iowa felt like this last year.
I expect ISU to win, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if we lost by 3 touchdowns either. If we can keep our D off the field, let them rest up and keep Iowa at bay, then we have a great shot this game. But, going by week one, ISU fans would be crazy to at least not feel good going into this game.
