This team hasn’t played it’s best football

This team has not played its best football in my opinion. I think both the offense and defense have not hit their highest gear at the same time. If they can happen who knows who we can beat.

Bottom line on the defense I think is that we could really use some consistency in the LBs. 1 guy gets the dot and needs to learn it. This bye is at the perfect time for that.

Nice comfy win against West Virginia. Even when we were down I was fairly confident we’d win. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Gonna be hard for the defense to play its best football when it's dealing with so many injuries. As such, as long as the defense does its part and plays good enough to win, I'm fine with that.

The offense I'd like for it to find its next gear... but then sans UND and Iowa it's really hard to argue with how the offense has performed this season overall.

Agree w thread title.

The defense has been so beat up, yet still giving up hardly any points.

The offense has looked unstoppable about a third of the time, but still you can see the line, the backs, and even Rocco have things to work on.

ST has been good but certainly not perfect.

Imagine if they do get it all put together around say... late november.

Repeating but last night felt like ISU was just taking care of business with its approach; they could have sent Higgins and Noel deep a lot more I think.

Maybe they were just trying to slow burn with the offense to shorten the game and avoid the defense getting leaky with the injuries.

They’re a D1 program with D1 athletes and a pretty good coach…I don’t think our team or our coaches are going to just casually walk into this game pretending UCF can’t beat us. Bama tried that attitude the last two games and it hasn’t been going well….and we ain’t no Bama son.

Yep. And ISU isn’t good enough to sleepwalk through any Big 12 game. Look at the conference this year - anyone can beat anyone on a given day.

Gus is not a good coach.
So the guy was National Coach of the Year, beat Saban more than any other active coach, and has roughly a .667% lifetime win percentage and he’s not a good coach?

Regardless, of what any of us think of Malzahn, the point of my post still stands: it would be very foolish of any of our fans to think we can just strut on into the Jack Saturday and UCF is just going to roll over.

Exactly. We need to bring it every Saturday. If Vandy can beat Bama and then SC almost (and should have) beats them at home, any team can beat anyone on a given Saturday.

I don’t understand Cyclone fans who think everyone is going to roll over for us and all we got to do so show up.

We are good. It's ok to not be scared of opponents. We don't need to build everyone we play in to some sort of super team when they aren't. I never said teams are just going to roll over for us, but we are better than UCF and will beat them.

We did it with Iowa, Houston, Baylor and West Virginia.
