I'll call my shot right now but we won't face the Vampire next year. K-State will get a a couple games into the season and then Bill steps down "for medical reasons" which guarantees junior an audition as the next head coach.
Except it will be the last week again during rivalry week and there will be new rumblings that it will be his last game and the refs will want him to go out with a win.......I've seen this show before.
We'll see. I don't think he'd pull an August retirement to force the AD to give his son a one year audition as the head coach, but you never know.
Not surprising. Evidently, he's beat cancer as well and wants to end with something better than this disappointing season. Lots of pieces return although Reed and Pingle have declared for the draft. One of his principles is 'never give up.'
We need to anticipate and overcome bad officiating. The bowl game was a step in the right direction.
So the officials gave him that going away present for nothing? I haven't looked....but hopefully we don't play him in the last game of the season again in 2018.
When he retired the first time he reportedly had told someone close to him that when he started losing to Iowa State he knew it was time to hang them up. We beat him in 2004 and 2005.
Bill ain't retiring until Sean undeservingly has his KSU head coaching contract inked.
