The Sinking of the ISU Flagship

It is true mates. The beginning of the end of KXNO being the flagship of the Cyclones has begun.

Despite the rambling, incoherent defense of Marty and the turd Miller's by Cotler this morning....the tolling of the bell has started on the little station run by AA batteries.

WHO and the conservative powers that be have fired the first salvo in what is to be a gradual transfer of focus over to Zabel University. The almighty greenback has spoken...and there is plenty to be made in the poop bowl of Kinnick.

Who will man the deck to defend us? That L.A. Weight-Loss reject Cotler or his comatose sidekick that man-handles his twig and berries over women on the internet/radiowaves?

Of course not J. Miller who will use every opportune moment to discuss that latest kernels of gossip concerning what Capt Kirk had for breakfast....

or what of the screaming East Coast pinhead and the nag announcer? How will they have time to talk of ISU when there are better issues such as their troublesome ex-wives...and that fact they toasted more bridges in this town then did Sherman across Georgia?

again I ask...who will stand up and say no to the screeching sparrows of the east?

What I don't understand is why people care so much.

10-15 years ago...yeah...bigger deal. Internet wasn't around...so the radio & TV was the only good source for up-to-date info. Newspapers & magazines were ok...yet a day or two behind - at least.

But today any and all information can be found on the World Wide Web. So the radio sector has gotten worse for ISU. It's not like ISU had a plethora of good coverage before this change. IMO, just par for the course.

Tune in to something else on the radio if ya don't like the changes. Plenty of non-local sports radio or other stations to listen to. When you get home...boot up the PC...type in your favorite Cyclone website...kick back and get the REAL story.

Really? there are other stations out there????

my god...I need to get out more!!!!Deace's did offer quite a bit on the cyclones with staff members from Cyclone Nation giving the scoop on the latest information...the web cannot offer the same informational track that radio does...but if you are content with the web being your only source on ISU...and happy with KGGO being the dial you have tuned in...more power to you..

Radio is hugely, HUGELY important to growing our fan base. The internet is NOTHING compared to radio. As it is, KXNO is out. There is something in the works.

I agree. There HAS to be some ISU imput on sports radio. Radio is a huge deal. Most sports fans don't spend time on message boards...only fanatics do.

I fully agree CyLyte.....radio that covers the Cyclones allows more important time on the web such as surfing web-sites dedicated to mullets and downloading the next Lindsay Lohan photo

When an argument is made how this will hurt the growth of the ISU fan base - I get on board with that.

Yet 99% of the "complaints" I'm reading are anti-Hawk and "I'll never listen again". Seems to be less global thinking there.

Until of course, someone comes along stating this change really is insignificant.

As far as streaming goes, ESPN radio from Omaha is pretty darn good to ISU, as McCarney is on pretty frequently during the year, and almost weekly during the football season, plus the other ISU personalities. The exchange is Husker talk vs. Iowa talk...

Jamie already has. We are about to get a new flagship that has much more power and reach than KXNO.

I wonder if it will be something very special. Could it possibly be that the flagship station of the Cyclones will be 100.3 FM? Now that would be a blockbuster deal. The signal strength of this station is immense.

That would be worth firing Deace from a cannon into a tub filled with pudding/vanilla wafers prior to the Toledo game

Oh hell...can't we do that regardless????

It's not that I dislike Deace like that...but...if Jamie wants to solve the problem with fans not getting into the game before kickoff - this type of thing aught to cure that right up!
