With the 2021 Class all, but wrapped up, it may be time to take a look at some targets I think are high priorities.

QB Rocco Becht
RB Cartevious Norton
RB/WR Xavier Townsend
WR Greg Gaines
WR Quaron Adams
WR Jason Essex
TE Andrew Keller
TE Gabe Burkle
OT Deylin Hasert
Edge R Mason Thomas
LB Jacob Imming
S Jeremiah Cooper

Top 10 Wants!

1. WR Chandler Smith - IMO, he is the best prospect that we have a chance for. He is 6'3", world class fast and is a skilled route runner. Extremely polished. Stud. Committed to Florida
2. DE Mario Eugenio - Sack machine, would challenge the sack record at ISU. Decommitted from Michigan; not coming to Iowa State
3. WR Greg Gaines - He would fight for starts day one on campus. Insane play maker
4. DT Domonique Orange - THICK boy with speed.
5. DT Hunter Deyo - He would be higher if I thought we had a better chance. He is REALLY good. Moves extremely well.
6. WR Quaron Adams - Zoooooooom.
7. DE R Mason Thomas/Ikenna Ezeogu - both can rush the passer and stop the run. I think they are equally talented. Get one and I'm happy.
We got BOTH!
8. RB Kaleb Johnson - Not the fastest, but is patient and moves very efficiently. Who does that sound like. Committed to HOK
9. LB Will McLaughlin - He's low because we have two linebackers. Dude plays like he would kick Nana down the stairs if she got in his way.
10. S D'Angelo Hutchinson - Lengthy, hard hitting safety. Sign me up

I will be giving each player a Freshman rating and Potential Rating. The Freshman Rating is the rating that the player would have if they were put in the game today. The Potential Rating is what I think they could be rated once they are a senior. Note: Potential is not what I think they WILL be, it's what I think the ceiling of what they could be.

NCAA Football games would rate their freshman players according to the star ratings.
61 below = 2 star
62-69 = 3 star caliber
70-77 = 4 star caliber
78-81 = 5 star caliber

Potential
80+ = Role Player
85+ = Starter for P5
90+ = All-Conference
95+ = All-American
98+ = Heisman

Notes: the above ranges are what NCAA Football would use to rate their players. Obviously, teams like Akron may not have anyone above 80 and BAMA may have 50 players over 85. It's just a scale for reference of their ability.
I will not be rating all 3 stars between 62 and 69. Some may be above and some below. Again, it's just for reference.

QB - I'd be 100% on board with Jaxon Dailey. I love having a mobile qb in our system as we aren't going to have 4 stars and 5 stars on the O line. He seems to be able to throw a nice ball too
RB - go get the best one on the board. Time to go 4 star hunting, we should NOT have to settle on a run of the mill 3 star, we are becoming a running back factory to the nfl. Both Kene and Breece have NFL futures (although kene will be a return specialist)

Other random thoughts:
LB - Jacob Imming and Will McClaughlin are must gets to me. Highly rated 3 stars in state. Enough with the hawks getting these types of kids. Kirk is almost 70 and playing on 18th hole career wise, we have way more to sell than them right now, great facilities, Fiesta Bowl win, great LB play at ISU. Let's go
- I also like getting Matt Rose, if he plays ANYTHING like his brother and I bet he does, he will be a starter for us!

DE - Venson Sneed looks like a can't miss prospect at 6"5 and 250 already. Love this recruit.
-also really like getting Easton Dean's cousin, he looks like a hell of an athlete.
DE recruiting is so critical in our scheme, they have to be able to be walls against the run, and rush the passer

From 2022 on.... we should be getting top 30 classes, no reason whatsoever we should not be

It would be nice to capitalize early with the momentum the program currently has.

Imming, Allar, McLaughlin, Hoskins are some recruits that I feel like we could close on over the next few months.

Domonique Orange is a KC guy with a big time offer list that I think we have a somewhat realistic shot at.

KC and Minnesota need to be big states for us recruiting wise by the way. Thinking about KC: Kansas, Mizzou, and Kstate are not threatening right now for national relevance. (quick drive to Ames). Somewhat the same argument can be made for st. louis metro
And for Minnesota - PJ Fleck's charm is really starting to wear off on that state IMO, he just smells of a guy waiting to use that program to leave for a bigger program. And MN sucked this year.

For running back, I think Eli Sanders (2021) will be a 4 star on 247 and a Cyclone when it's all said and done. The best prospect is probably Ollie Gordon and he is going to have plenty of suitors. Thankfully, we have a fiesta bowl ring to show off on the Zoom calls.

I think the in-state kids are really going to start falling to the cyclones now that they know that Campbell is sticking around.

No inside info, I just get the feeling with Imming and McLaughlin one will come here and one will go to Iowa. Imming is a Clone lean if you trust 247 crystal balls.

Several additional RBs under consideration are Nicholas Singleton, of Gov. Mifflin Senior High School, in Penn. Also, Austin Brown, of Johnston City, Illinois, and Jordan Anderson, of Joliet Catholic Academy, in Illinois.

It made sense that Purdy's lil bro went elsewhere as only one QB plays at a time but I'd be shocked if we don't get this legacy.
Hok is pushing hard for lil Rose. I wouldn't be "shocked" if he does goes elsewhere.

Name: Jacob Imming
Position: LB
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 197lb
Other Measurables:
NCAA Football 14 Freshman:
72
NCAA Football 14 Potential: 92
Player Comparison: AJ Klein
Significant Impact: RS SO. This position is loaded and unless guys start jumping to the pros (2-3 a year) we are going to have a crowded room for years to come. Likely Rose and Hummel will be gone after next season, probably Vance, too. However, we have Horne, Dae Dae, Vaughn, Pederson, others who can play, not to mention the 2021 class. This is going to be a CROWDED room. I think Imming will find a way to get in the rotation his third year. That's not a criticism of his talent, that is a compliment to the LB corp.
Attributes: [20/20] [Rover][Jack-of-all-trades]
Areas of Improvement:
He needs an off-season with Andrews to really take the next step. He is really slim right now and needs to bulk up. His goal to get to 210 by next season, but that is still light for a linebacker. He needs to get up to 235 to really be effective.
As for his game, it's pretty darn crisp. Not a lot of flash and I would like to see more wow plays, but he looks effective suring up the middle
Thoughts:
Great start to the class. GREAT START. HOK will tell you that they didn't want him. They are either lying or stupid (probably both).
Imming will be a great leader for this class. He was very well spoken when talking to Stanz on Cyclone Radio on Thursday. I was impressed by the way he answered the questions.
That is why I think a great comp for him is AJ Klein. First of all, Imming has the same athletic ability that Klein has. Imming is very quick and great going side to side. He also can play in cover; he's a modern ISU LBer. Also like Klein, Imming is a great leader. He will probably be the OLB. He is also working the phones with other recruits and I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see dominoes falling for recruits that have a strong interest in ISU.

Here is the most important part. Imming is a great recruit and will likely be a great player for Iowa State; however, his commitment means more than just a good player picking a school. 5 years ago, Imming would have picked HOK and not even thought twice about it. He might have even committed on the spot. Why would he not? They were the proven NFL factory in the state and ISU was a dumpster fire. Times have changed. ISU is now a very attractive option for recruits. These recruits were just entering middle school when ISU started to turn the corner. Their memories of watching sports with their friends involved watching Iowa State win big games and have a number next to their name on the scoreboard. They don't really remember a crappy ISU team.

As long as ISU keeps winning like this, we will continue to land recruits like Imming. I'm pumped.
