Just started watching the game again.... In the first half we did not took to horrible, accept for the INT and giving up the big plays on 3rd and long almost every time..... That and the holes for Warren were huge at times....

One concern I have is to have an accurate passer so holes do open up for Warren at this point.

It's kind of pizzing me off that Warren is getting so much love and the OL is getting none. I'm not completely kool-aid drunk on Warren for that reason. Our O line is pretty decent as far as ISU lines go. On the flipside I can't believe that it's not 100% pull SR for that same reason. We're wasting a decent line with him back there and there's no telling when we'll have a line this good again.

I think OL has improved since game 1, but most of that is getting healthy and a lot of people expected this coming into this year anyway with all the experience we had coming back..... I like that we have good depth here too, a lot of OL played as the game went on......

On the sideline? He was clearly out. Not that that meant anything in this game.

We gave up 38 points in the first half! Pretty much lost the game in the first half. Yeah, our offense's best quarter was the 2nd quarter when we were outscored 21-14. Last quarter barely counts with Lanning and Webb running things.

Yep. Minus 100 things, we looked good in the first half.

I was lead to believe it's Cole Netten's fault SBR threw 3 INT's and could not hit the broad side of a barn, and that's why there's also an open competition at kicker now, and not at QB.

SBR should be pulled immediately. If Lanning can't master the MANGENIUS playbook, then MM needs to dumb it down and make it so the few plays he does know, he can execute to perfection. With the line and Warren killing it, there's no reason why the QB cannot succeed. Half the battle is keeping the defense honest, and we have that now.

This is overly myopic, but when I watched our games last year, I pretty much always walked away thinking that there is no hope for improvement, we just don't have the talent to stay even close with the other teams in our conference.

Though the results have not changed and even though TTU did crush us, I still think that with the right corrections, we can become competitive this year.

I think the biggest issue is that we need to stop rushing only 3 guys on 3rd & long situations. We get teams in 3rd and long often because our run defense is much improved, but so many times the opposing QB has all day to sit back and eventually coverage breaks down and we give up yet another conversion. When the QB has to make quick decisions on 3rd down, we had much better success of forcing a short throw and then stopping them before they could make a 1st down. Without re-watching the game, I bet 4-5 TTU touchdowns had situations where we had them in 3rd & long, rushed only 3 and gave up a first down and eventually a score.

OL r not blocking down field when Warren breaks for 51, he is illusive and has great vision..... I think both Warren's running skills (as a Freshmen) and OL opening some big holes help our RB success, in order to keep rolling here we need to show we can pass a little, I will not be happy this weekend if Lanning does not get more snaps....

Just getting to watch the game as I listened to parts on the radio. Our LB's and DB's are playing defense really timid. One or two times they are just running along side the receivers as they are running down the field with the ball. Just not playing all that well. Bundrage played really well and Sam made some really good throws but lots of poor short throws behind guys. Just don't understand.

I agree with this for the most part, which is why I go after Charter and other super-negatives..... I think when these adjustments don't happen, which they have not it falls 100% on the coaching staff and imo it will be the way the rest of the year and we will be in a coaching search again in December....

just remembered the biggest soul punch to the nuddicals was 110:00..... How did we not get a TD and why the hell did we kick there???? Run Ryen or Warren on the edge..... That or a GD bootleg.... J. Wesley's catch was damn close too......

Between the non-overturned TD catch and giving up the 3rd Down and 30 play, it really killed any chance of momentum. The spot on the 3rd and 30 was turrible as the line judge spots it a half yard short and then starts walking in flips to the umpire and they are both walking up field and gave them at least a full yard. The next play or two was a TD with the potential hold on Willie Harvey (who seemed to be the only LB playing fast). It wasn't as bad as Walters made it sound as Willie didn't try to get out hard enough IMO but it was hard to see.

Love the Cotton defense on the first play into the 4th QTR..... :jimlad:

He is good against the run, but wow is he going to get out-manned in the Big12 when matching up with any WR..... Amazing the difference between him and Floyd

Know who is giving credit to the OL? Mike Warren. I think I've heard that guy say three or four times, "all credit to my offensive line" or something similar.

I agree, though, the OL has been a frequent (and deserved!) target of criticism around here so they need some love when they help rack up the rushing yards we've had the last few games.

Getting down to the one yard line with 2nd and Goal on the first series in the second half was killer. Why would we kick a field goal down 17? Did you really think the defense was going to stop them very often?
