Doesn't surprise me. I expect ISU to cover, I haven't been very impressed with Tech so far this year. I think Wally will devise a good game plan to at least keep it close.

First time this year I'd comfortably bet on isu

Yeah, Tech is 5-0 but has beaten:
1-4 SMU whose only win was over a mediocre FCS team
2-3 (FCS) Stephen F. Austin
2-3 TCU whose only win against an FBS school is over SMU
3-2 Texas State
2-2 Kansas

Not exactly murderers row.

Exact same spread as last time Cyclones went to Lubbock.... Iowa State won 41-7.

Texas Tech beat SMU, SF Austin, TCU, Texas State, and Kansas.

Those 5 teams have a combined 10 wins. 6 of those are against FCS opponents and TCU played SMU, so one of those teams had to win.

Those stats are even worse than I thought they would be.

This line is going to move hard towards ISU.

I've just watched a little of Tech this year, but I thought their back-up has looked better than Mayfield from the very small sample size I have seen

ISU will be ready to bounce back from a frustrating loss, and has a history of playing well in Tejas. TxT, on the other hand is coming off an easy win at KU that doesn't provide a real measuring stick.

The league's first millennial coach is riding high in the saddle after 5 nice wins. They are ranked at home versus a 1-3 team and everyone expects them to just strut out there and fire up the old pin ball machine. But it just doesn't work that way in this league.

In the end, I'd lay money on ISU due to the edge in coaching. Age and treachery wins out over youth and exuberance every time( I think Ben Franklin said that ... :pcute:) .

The Cyclones have the team speed and coaching guile to keep this game a whole lot closer than 16 points. The real key is to get past the Texas loss and not allow it to become 2 losses.

If I win my bet with the Chiefs today, I will be playing this one as well.
