That's freakin unbelievable. The umps are making baseball into women's softball. Maybe the worst ump call of the year.

Why wan't Hudson ejected yesterday?

I am calling complete BS on this. And then our 2nd baseman gets hit in the mouth - this could be a bloody night.

Oh, and what's with the smile on the home plate ump after Lilly got ejected? Nothing worse than a zebra on a power trip

I thought Edgar should have been ejected for that slide too. He should have been expecting that also.

Ted Liily is a good signing for the Cubs. A bit overpriced in the new Gil Meche market, but as a Sox fan, I thought he was a quality signing.

If the dumbass ump was expecting it, you think he would have warned the benches before the game. What a chump.

Can someone inform the uninformed? I just flipped to the Cubs game from Shrek, and it's the first baseball game I've really decided to watch this season. What happened?

Lilly hit Edger in the first inning. With NO warning Lilly got ejected.
Afterwards Edger goes into our 2nd baseman and basically punches him in the face as he come into 2nd base and NOTHING happened to Edger.

Needless to say I'm getting worked up about this one.

You're talking with a pitch (the first one), right? That's insane. Even the commentator's are saying it's unjust. These guys should get reviewed for inconsistency in discipline

It must be nice to shell out that kind of dough for a mediocre pitcher. As an A's fan, I know that Lilly is not worth the paper he signed his contract on. But hey, at least he stays healthy.

He's not had an ERA over 4.34 since 2001. He's been better than just mediocre for the last few years. I disagree with the amount of money he got, but he's the type of signing that was a good idea for the Cubs.

EDIT: For some reason I missed 05 and his 5.5 ish ERA. He's still been decent.
