No clouds in Iowa should be a good view.
clear in eastern Iowa! Already had 2 frosted pints of beer on out patio

**I thought it was supposed to be red for awhile and THEN eclipse????

It's starting to eclipse right now (8:10pm CST) and it's not red

i think the red happens with the full eclipse. About an hour.

A blue moon is two full moons in one month. When Iowa state beat Minnesota in the Insight bowl is was on the night of December 30th-- a blue moon!

Iowa state wins bowl games once in a blue moon.

This is pretty cool. As the stars start to show because the light is dropping it makes you realize how small you really are in this universe. Pretty neat stuff.

There have been 2 blue moons since that night...

Blue moons happen about once every 3 years.

Imagine how freaked out we all would be if this was 1815 and not 2015.

Heck, it would be a blast talking to you all about on here.

I just said the same thing to DH. Like what if we were Indians or some group of people who are like WTF?! a few hundred years ago.

Although the Maya were able to predict them, eclipses were still considered an omen of doom. They prepared rituals for protection in advance of the event.

Why hasn't NASA established a "moon cam" yet?? I want to see what an eclipse looks like from there!
