I'm fine with sirens for a severe thunderstorm warning that is producing 70 mph gusts, hail, and constant cloud to ground lightning.

Dear Clive, Urbandale, Grimes, and Waukee City departments-
Have you ever heard the story of the little boy who cried wolf?

Tornado Sirens went off about 4-5 separate times......

They were going off in WDM too and that was probably 30 minutes before the front even arrived. When I was a kid and you heard the tornado sirens you knew that **** just got real. My kids hear it and they ask if they can go to the pool.

So if you are out in a park with your kids, you don't want to be alerted if strong winds are on the way?

I guess I hold enough common sense that when I see a bunch of black clouds maybe it's time to load up the old family truckster and go home.

Then you don't have to worry about the sirens.
