Last one of these for a long time. Thank the Lord. Have a nice Tuesday, dudes.
You probably won't read this Chris, but it would be cool if someone asked him what he plans on doing with ISU's two open scholarships.
Edit: I only say that because you should definitely be in bed.
Fred's best attributes were in being a great GM imo. On the court he was good and the product among the best to watch, but there are many ways to win in CBB.I think Prohm could exceed Hoiberg as a game day coach or be his equal in the short term. What Hoiberg lacked in GameDay coaching experience in the beginning - he made up with ability to communicate and manage his team on a big stage. Also in the short term Prohm needs to prevent defections and bring in quality (and possibly retain) assistant coaches. Finally, he has a lot of player talent to work with - which makes this situation unique. Long term he needs to be able to recruit the talented and athletic players that can compete for the Big12 Championship - which will probably be his biggest challenge.
Chris said on the podcast he was going to go hard with recruiting questions.
Maybe not specifics, but strategy, geography, etc I'm thinking.
IMO, Fred's best attribute was his ability to instill confidence in his players. He was very good at almost all aspects of the game (except defense, but nobody is perfect), but this was the most unique. Everyone knew exactly where they had the green light from and was always looking for their shot. This is not the case on a lot of teams and I hope we won't miss it in the coming years...Fred's best attributes were in being a great GM imo. He brought stability as a GM. He knew how to put together a team so that he could win without needing an entire lineup of prime talent and the good players stayed while guys that needed a lot of development left.
He only made the Ncaa Tournament in his first year at MS
What scares me is this year is a lock!
Then what!
Go look at at Murray St over the last 3 years they lost to all of the big teams!
I just went over the schedule and I dont feel good at all!
