I have been watching a lot of CNBC when I work from home and see a lot of commercials about Start Engine. Essentially, its a website that shows you companies trying to raise money for their business in a crowdsource way. Just curious if anyone has tried it and what your thoughts are?

Sounds great to me. I'm about 10 years too old to have benefited from these innovations that are going to accelerate smash business success. We need it, the healthcare burden alone keeps most from going on their own.

I am thinking of throwing a little money in to one of these to see how it goes. But before I do, just wanted to see if anyone else had invested this way before.

It's interesting. There are a few things on there that "seem" like they should be successful.

Good ideas are only successful when they have good people behind them.
That's why I put seem in quotes. It's difficult to invest based on just a web page. I'm assuming you can request more specific information in regards to a business plan. Then you would have to be able to read and understand the plan. That's where I feel the majority of us would have trouble.
