I know there are a lot of fanatics that have smokers so I'm looking for a hack to clean my racks. I have a small electric smoker with stainless steel racks. Anyone have an easy ways to clean them?

My typical approach is this. Let my German Short hair lick on them as sort of a pre-wash. Throw them in a large bucket of water for 1-2 days. Use magic eraser or steel wool to clean. Works OK in summer in winter have to bring in and finish in the sink which is a pain in the arse. I've tried dishwasher but never had much luck.
Any great ideas?

I've went away from deep cleans on my ss grates. Put them in my charcoal grill on high after food is done and burn everything crispy. Let cool to warm and brush down with wire grill brush.

If you're really looking to get them clean spray down with whatever de-greaser, oven cleaner, cleaning solution you feel comfortable with and thrown in a kitchen garbage bag and let soak for a few days. Brush off and throw on high heat.

If they are real bad, I spray them with over cleaner and shove them in a plastic garbage bag overnight. I also bought one of these that work real well.

I just lay them on the driveway and break out the pressure washer with the smallest/strongest nozzle and blast the heck out of them. Look brand new every time.
That's a good idea, now I just got to get my pressure washer back

I use the garden hose and then crumble up some aluminum foil and scrap it off and wash. I normally clean after every time. I have a second shelf that is almost like teflon and that cleans super easy!!

Do not take all the flavor from the grates. They are better after being used a few times. Why take them back to new? Just scrape them.

I usually neglect mine by leaving them filthy for weeks/months at a time between smokes. The day before I smoke again, I scrub it off in the utility sink and throw it in the dishwasher. Looks almost new every time.

Aluminum foil for the tough stuff. Grill Daddy before and after each use. Pure magic!
