He is far and away my #1 right now. And if Fitch comes with him he knows the area already and "hopefully" can tell Skip what a great town Ames is. Fitch is probably going to get a nice raise as well as the O-Cord at Iowa State..what $250K?

Yes, link it up.

I would be all for Skip Holtz...as long as I didn't have to listen to his dad speak all the time.

I think Skip Holtz maybe the guy! This is why Todd Fitch OC/QB coach has ties to ISU and so does Junior Smith Running Back coach. Wayne Bolt has ties with ECU. Greg Hudson has midwest ties from coaching at Minnesota. Robert McFarland has ties to Skip Holtz from his Notre Dame days. All these guys from Head Coach to the Defensive End/ Special Teams coach at ECU are people that knows Jamie Pollard, Robert McFarland, or Wayne Bolt some how or some why. I think we have a shot all we have to do is tell him the job is his. But the beautiful thing is that Jamie Pollard is keeping this so quite that no one has a clue what's going on except him and the coach to be which is getting national attention. THIS IS AWESOME I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:notworthy:

i would like to have skip holtz as the coach. he has been able to win the big game at ECU. VA Teach and WVU this year. he did lose some after that but that happens alot. he would be a great hire in my opinion

I bought a $5 t-shirt that has the score of this years wvu-ecu game and on the back it says "SKIP RUNS THIS SHIP" and has a pirate ship.

Probably one of the coolest shirts I own.

I would be happy with Skip.

Skip
Patterson
Stoops

Don't know if any are attainable, but I could get excited for any of these 3.

This one sounds really plausible to me. This would be in line with the kind of hire I would expect outta JP. Gives me the same kind of hope that the Chizlick hire was. I know he doesn't have the amazing undefeated kind of season, but they have had some solid seasons, impressive wins, and still had a decent season this year despite injuries this year. 9-4 this year and three of the four losses were to bowl bound teams.

I would be excited to Holtz. I did see a post on an ECU thread about how he has aspirations to win a national championship and that they kinda expect him to leave town sometime in the future.

This is my number one right now for believability and excitement. I've watched a couple ECU games the past couple years and enjoyed watching them play.

skip holtz sounds like a good choice-very likable-no snake like personality like chizzle stick- could you imagine that pollard could get holtz,jr. and todd fitch back as offensive coordinator.fitch a very good recruiter and has great coaching personalty.

why not hire the old man for 30,000 a year and hire earl bruce back for 30,000 a year. give them both a state car and make lou and earl co -recruiting coordinators.earl could work the midwest(nebr, iowa ,kansas, mizzou, illinois, indiana, michigan, wisconsin, ohio, and pennsylvania). big "lou holtz" could scour the southern belt ( california,texas,oklahoma,arkansas,la.,mississippi,alabama,georgia,florida).
i bet earl and louie could steal alot recruits away from old chizzle stick, and earl could start bringing back the big ohio boys .bet old earl and old lou would make pretty salty recruiting tandem for the cyclones.

Seriously people.... We have zero chance in Holtz... Come on... He makes 1.2 million it will take at least 2 million to come to ISU (which we don't have)and really it would be a lateral move for him.... No way no how this can happen... You guys need to get off the sauce and give it to me...

I can't get the Pat Hill moto out of my head. "Anybody, anytime, anywhere." I want a bad *** coach with a bad *** football team like that.

I'd be thrilled with Holtz as well though.

I'd usually agree, but from what I've read he's interested in a BCS game and someday a championship. Both of which are unlikely at ECU playing in Conference USA. Coaching in the Big XII North however with a fanbase that is patient and tolerant and with an AD who will back you may help. Moving from a conference USA school to a Big 12 isn't so much a lateral move when it comes to conferences. Maybe as far as talent level it might be a lateral move, and recent record performance a step down, but Big 12 play offers more exposure and the potential to play at a higher level than even the best CUSA school can get to. I think he might be ready to go to what is considered the next level, even if the program quality is a lateral move.

I disagree. It would in now way shape or form be a lateral move. And I disagree that we cant get to the $2mil. I dont have any insider info..but I believe if we HAVE to get to $2mil we will get it done.
