Anyone have recommendations for a good shed builder in the metro? I'm looking to build a small residential shed, but I'm needing a custom build as I'm not finding anything prefabricated or available as a kit that matches what I want. (And, ideally, I can find someone who won't hold me to a building permit.)

Thanks!

Are you talking about a Morton building or a shed to store a lawnmower?

Okay, so I see you don't want a building permit. That limits your options as you are looking for someone to do it on the side. Sorry, I don't know anyone doing that anymore.

Whoever you do use, I do suggest following local code regardless if you have a permit or not.

Spring Valley Sheds. Nobody else. They are in Waukee, but I believe they are affiliated or owned by the Amish outfit of the same name just north of Chariton. The sheds are unique, custom built, super solid, and cheaper than a Tuff Shed. Mine looks like a mini house, not a shed. Do yourself a favor and just drive down to the Chariton location—dozens of shed examples on site and they build and deliver to the metro.
