Come on, taking a couple fingers up the anus during some well intentioned hazing is all a part of becoming a man.....

The sad thing is that the origional article by the Fresno Bee, which started this whole, basically was predicted on that idea

"What do you mean the freshman is pressing charges for this, he obviously is just a wimp"

They must have gotten tons of letters about that (including one from me), because they've moved away from the "this was a legit move, freshman was a little *****" storyline and now are just trying to cover their own ***** by claiming this was a legit wrestling technique.

The butt drag is a legit move, this wasn't a butt drag, it was really severe hazing.

After reading his response I envision this.

YouTube - will ferrel wreslting

:biglaugh::biglaugh: One of my favorite movies of all-time! Side note for any non-wrestlers here, I've noticed most girls absolutely love it when you take a page out of the Ladies Man's book and call them "sweet thang." Not sure why I ever tried it, but that guy was really on to somethin. I'm sure wrestling partners would probably enjoy it to.

im going to have to side with the "wrestlers are not gay"

are boxers gay?
football players gay when they all jump into a big man pile going for a fumble?
or a QB taking a snap from center?
is MMA gay?

calling wrestlers gay is just a way for a basketball player to their one and only jab in at a wrestler. "Hey, i know you could kick my *** and the rest of the guys on our team too, but you're gay"

:skeptical:

A butt drag is a valid move. This is referred to as an oil check. They are not the same. One is legal. One is something really weird people who happen to wrestle do.

Someone I know was oil-checked in a practice (not to this extent). He put the guy's teeth through his lip when he hit him.

I think the important question is how severe was it? When the article says "Jammed two fingers" I envision something pornographic and homoerotic. If the article would have used a different verb, I might understand a little. Did I ever do it? No. I've seen it done in a gym full of 300 some odd people though, and nobody thought twice.

I am not a former wrestler or any sort of wrestling enthusiast, but I have known a lot of them in my lifetime and I can pretty much say I've never known one gay wrestler. I also would say that 99.9% of people that think wrestling is gay would never say it to a wrestlers face (if they did, they would regret it).

I mean if there is something gay about inserting your body parts into another man's anus, then what could be deemed as straight? What world are we living in?

i think this is funny.. i wrestled in highschool.... but why would i regret this? are all wrestlers just the toughest guys in the world or something? maybe D1 wrestlers, but outside that id rather say that to them then a starting center.

This is spot on. I jut think it pathetic when an adult says "wrestlers are gay". I realize it was probably a joke but it wasnt funny in jr high and it is just stupid now.

Wrestlers/MMA fighters are some of the most conditioned and deciplined athletes in the world, but hey why show that type of dedication any respect?

Well, yes, most of my experiences with wrestlers are ISU wrestlers. They are obviously very tough SOB's.

If you are going to do the shocker, you should do it correctly otherwise you risk injury. Two fingers. What was that idiot thinking?

Oh, and yes, he committed a crime and should get something from that. And.. I don't think wrestlers are gay, just wrestling.

In no way do I think wrestlers are gay, and even if one happens to be who cares? You do have to admit though, if you are gay and looking for a sport wrestling would be pretty enticing.

i don't think a "sport" has a sexual orientation

but i guess you have to define gay

if the guy who stuck his fingers up the other dudes *** found it sexually arousing, that is as gay as it gets

The kid who had the fingers up his butt should have the option of breaking this guys offending fingers. I don't normally go for the eye for an eye thing, but we can't have kids going around sticking fingers up each other's butts willy nilly. It's a bad precedent. A lot of people are already propagating the slapping each other's bait and tackle.
