Self is just paying lip service to the rest of the conference. He has the 6th ranked recruiting class in the country coming in that includes two 5 star and one 4 star recruit to add to an already stacked roster. What else is he going to say "there isn't a team in the conference who I'm scared of breaking our conference title streak."

Just for once I would love to see KU miss the tournament and watch the meltdown of their spoiled and annoying fan base. The last year they were out of the tournament was 89-90 when they were ineligible then you have to go back to 82-83 when they went 13-16. The last time they did not win 20 games was also 89-90 when they won 19.

I also think Iowa State will be somewhere in the middle. Was this supposed to make us mad?

Yeah the middle's fine. Means NCAA tourney and then see what happens.

Bottom 3 or something with a healthy roster and it's time to ask questions...

He actually said Iowa State has the potential to be near the top if Wigginton comes back. He said KState would be his first pick for #1 in the league (since he can't pick KU) but that Iowa State might be right there.

Going out on a limb picking a team that barely made the tournament to win the big 12 next year.
