I was just wondering if anyone knew who beat Ryak Finch at the UNI Open on saturday. The article on cyclones.com said he took 3rd and went 4-1 on the day.

He lost to Terrance Young of UNI 5-1 in the semis. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the finishes we had at the UNI open. It wasn't exactly the Midlands as far as competition goes. We're young, but we've got a long ways to go.

Yeah especially when you look at what Long did to Terrance Young last year, he tech'd him pretty early...That's why i'm all for keep the RS on Ryak...

Is Ryak starting to fill in some weight, or is he still undersized even for 133?

I haven't seen him wrestle this year, nor have I personally talked to anybody that has. He was a 119 pounder as a Sr. in high school and they don't typically grow into big 125 pounders one year into college. Sanders from Minnesota was the same way and he still has trouble with big 125 pounders as a RS Jr. I hope Finch grows into a legit 125, but if I was going to GUESS right now, I'd say he's undersized at 125.

I saw him wrestle once this year but that was at wrestle-offs at the beginning of the season. He did look small, I don't know for sure what weight he walks around at but he looked very strong. He majored Patrick Hunter very easily and tilted him 3 or 4 times. I thought he looked really good and looked like the real deal. That's why I was surprised to see him get beat even though the UNI kid was decent I'm sure. I agree though, the redshirt is probably a good idea.
