Idk man you should just go watch George’s senior night speech. He loved Iowa State on a different level than guys we have had.

I remrmber watching it and yes, he did.

And he still would have if he went early or whatever.

I think this is a big deal for the 24-25 season.

A huge deal. We project well in the backcourt for years to come but will be pretty thin in the front court after losing Omaha, Tre K, Bob Jones, and Hason Ward all after this season. That leaves Milan (maybe) and Kayden Fish as our only returning front court pieces for 2024-2025.

The only knocks against JT this Spring were his physicality and conditioning. It sounds like he is still growing into his frame and working on body. Having 18 months around college coaches, training staff, and top nutrition options will give him a head start on becoming an early contributor after redshirting. Really a win-win for his development as well as the team's future outlook.

Alex Karaban recently redshirted for UConn before starting 38 games on the national championship team. He was a very good role player as a RS Freshmen who averaged an efficient 9 ppg and 5 rpg. Him and JT Rock were similarly rated 4 star recruits. Unrelated but Karaban also just happened to be one of TJ's first high school targets after taking the ISU job.

I still think the staff goes out and finds another experienced post in the portal next spring that can split time with Rock. But reclassifying and taking a full year to develop his body and game will increase the odds JT can be a Day 1 contributor in 2024.

He is going to red-shirt this first year. Good idea. He can adapt to Big 12 play, college life and classes, work on his game, and spend time developing in the weight room with the strength coaches.

Will be good for Omaha's and maybe even Jones' development. Big deal for 24-25. Maybe Omaha will be around for 2 years.

Omaha won't be here two years. I hope Milan will be here 2 years.

Would this have happened without Williams transferring?

No and I think this exchange worked out in our favor. Jeremiah had an uphill battle to playing time with his injury, Tamin establishing himself as the guy, plus the 3 transfer additions. He essentially got recruited over this offseason with the staff bringing Gilbert, Paveletzke, and Jones. All multi year backcourt additions.
