Not exactly sure.
Concede some if we need to to make the conference hold for a season or two while getting things line up to bolt to a different conference and let UT and OU sit there with their dicks in their hands with Baylor and TCU.

It absolutely is. They aren’t staying together for the kids for 4 years.
Maybe not for the kids… but they signed an iron clad grant of right that goes through the 24/25 season. If they want money, the they are staying until that is up.

KU fan on another board suggested that OU and Texas are trying to get SEC money, but stay in the Big 12. As a fan of Iowa State would you sign up for unequal revenue sharing if it meant keeping the conference together?
Screw that idea, if I am Bowlby, I am telling UT/OU and ESPN that as long as they are in the conference, those 2 schools will be on the 11:00 TV slot. I would think the conference has final say in game times, so inform both schools get used to early games, you will be playing a lot on them as long as you are in the league. Next time UT calls up and wants special treatment, tell them to contact the SEC,

Big deal if we piss off ESPN the league is finished anyway and so is Bowsby's job as commish, time to burn some bridges between the league and OU and UT.

This is why we needed to expand, and probably why we didn't. Everyone who felt safe because of it, well..

Not just for football. Basketball in Lubbock on Saturday night. Then Morgantown on Monday and back to Waco for Wednesday.

So we’d groom G5 teams, and when this inevitably came around we’d have more teams to compete with for a landing spot? Makes no sense.
No, you'd have a better shot at keeping the conference together. Adding BYU wouldn't have impacted our shot at landing somewhere else in any way.

Our conference was never going to stay together by promoting G5 teams or throwing a lifeline to BYU. The situation we are in now would not have been prevented in any way. The media had us out to be the permanent whipping post while the SEC built a brand beating everyone else. We needed our teams to perform on the stages they were given, and even then the cards were stacked against us.

I think to get UT and OU's rights money, no team can make a move until they officially do?

The only way ISU survives this I'm afraid is if we get a B1G invite or join the PAC 16 and it somehow does well.

Anything short of that and we're in deep trouble IMO. Adding some worthless schools to the remaining Big 12 won't do it I'm afraid.
