Yeah, not sure why this deserves a thread.

Its always good to have at least 4-5 years on a coaches contract for recruiting purposes.

Barta said they are discussing an extension and him and KF are treating this like it will be the last extension he will sign at Iowa before retiring.

As an Iowa fan, I agree 100%.

On average, a 10 win season every 3-4 years and a BCS Bowl appearance every 5-6.

I can handle splitting with ISU if you were to guarantee 17 more years like the program just experienced.

I bet most of the fans wouldn't agree with that if it meant splitting with ISU

Lol...hok fan slowly coming in to reality. You can't like how this is trending though. From 15 wins in a row to being behind in the series over the past 17 years. Has to be concerning for the Kirkwood dropouts around the state.

So Iowa is 23-9 in the last 32? I will take it.

Or doesnt that "trend" fit your narrative?

How about Iowa is 8-5 since 2003 against ISU? Or 5-3 since 2008?

Either one of us can move the goalposts to the benefit of one program.

What cant be argued is the overall success of the Iowa program when compared to the ISU program in the last 17 years.

I'm interested to know who Iowa could get to replace Ferentz. Do they promote within like they did with Ferentz?

Yeah, not sure why this deserves a thread.
Why not? This is worth talking about since the guy has been there for 17 years even if the final contract is 5 years.

This thread is about Ferentz. No one is moving any goalposts when talking about his losing record against Iowa State

You should thank whoever does your soft scheduling more than Kirk then. Imagine if Iowa had to play more ISU quality teams vs Big 10 cupcakes.
