I think it would be nice to have a separate forum for recruiting. That way it would be much easier to find out about certain recruits and may limit the amount of repeating threads!

Limiting laziness would limit the amount of repeating threads as well.

Would it still appear on the front page?
If so, I'm not sure that it makes a difference either way.

I would think it would still appear on the front page.

There are many more posts in a MBB or FB thread than recruiting posts. It allows you to sift through much less material to find what you are looking for. Also would help the people who can't always check the site to not miss stuff.

I don't mind either way. I'm looking from the perspective of someone who usually just uses the front page.

I thought this was discussed before, but the explanation given as to why we didn't have one is this site isn't intended to "compete" with recruiting info with Cyclone Report.

Seems silly, but that is what I recall.

That's usually what I do too. But I do think that it would take away redundant threads being started and lighten the load on the mods with merging and whatnot

That's typically what I do. But when it comes to recruiting I like to try and sift through the respective forum to find them.

Now that I've looked at it from my normal-use perspective, I'm going to look from the perspective I would take when I'm going to a site simply to learn something or do research.

In that case, I love to see everything organized or pigeonholed so that I can go straight to what I'm there to see. From the perspective of looking for something specific, a recruiting forum would be a nice feature, even if it appeared on the front page.

I can see a good reason to do it. No problem either way to me, but I can see a good reason to create that forum.
