He's not an actual 5 star recruit. One of the kicking services has him rated as a 4 star amongst kickers and punters. Either way, it's a great committment.

McCarney would have won back to back big 12 North titles off he would have recruited a kicker and might still be the coach here. Amazing how some coaches take kickers for granted. A good one can be worth a win or two.

Like it a lot. Thought that Nate Kaeding of the Hawkeyes covered up for a lot of deficiencies back in the day for Iowa. When you can pick up 3 points every time just getting inside the opponents 40 yard line, that is huge.
