Came across this article on the downside of waiting to commit. This is why you see recruits commit and decommit to take what they see to be better offers later. WR Nikia Jones was left without a spot after he was planning to commit on his visit to Oregon St. They called and cancelled his visit the day before his flight. Jones was offered by ISU back on April 25th last year but I don't believe we'd been in contact for awhile.

I don't hold blame recruits for holding a spot until something better comes along. Except for the McNeill situation, that was bs.

I don’t know if I would say McNeil was waiting for a better offer. Wasn’t there some fishy stuff involving an AAU coach getting hired at Cal - or am I remembering it wrong? I would say the hs qb from Michigan, who committed to us last year, and then decommitted to go to MSU(?) was just waiting for a better offer.

Yeah he followed his AAU coach, just wanted to point out I don't approve of that style of leaving.
