Any RC people on here? I finally have a kid interested enough that I can justify buying some stuff like I’ve always wanted.

We went through like 4 of the Amazon 90 dollar toy grade specials which broke fairly quickly. We bought a LaTrax Teton (1/18) hobby grade so parts are replaceable. We’re now looking at 1/10 4WD like the Aarma Granite 3 for Christmas. Budget is always a concern. Any suggestions?

I've been out of the hobby for decades, but have friends still active. Team Associated or Team Losi are your two plays if you want true hobby grade, where things go fast enough to regularly break parts

Same here. I still keep in touch with it. Get ready to spend a lot of money. Even if things don’t break, you’ll spend money upgrading. I worked for a distributer in the late 90s and still spent $100s a year, at cost, to keep pace with the top drivers.

Don’t get me wrong though, it’s fun as hell.

Either of you have anything you want to get rid of?

Aarma, Traxxas and Losi are the brands we’re looking at to level up. Looking for more of a basher with the age of the kids.

I get that it might be expensive to a certain extent but we’ve also spent like 350 bucks on cars that were broken within a matter of days sometimes. That’s not counting all the New Bright crap we’ve had.

Replaceable parts are key.

I don't have anything either, I had a losi gas buggy a few years back that did nothing but collect dust so I gave it away.

My friend that is big into the hobby would steer you towards the slower rock crawlers as they tend to survive due to their slower speeds. No matter what you do the faster you go the more things break.

I don't know a darn about Aarma, but I think you already know what you want, my only advice is to verify spare parts including aftermarket availability for each make/type.
