Is he visiting this weekend? In two separate threads I saw someone mention this. If so where did this information come from and what are the details? If he is coming there better be some chants for him. Looks like a big time recruit for the 2014 class.

In case anyone is wondering how Vaughn is doing at UNLV... he has not been very impressive. 16.4 pts per game, but he has taken nearly 1/4 of the teams shots. Only shooting .416% from the field and .289 from 3. Also, just .628 at the line. 4.1 rebounds per game and has just 9 assists and 2 steals with 15 turnovers.

I know the staff worked extremely hard to get him and was very disappointed when he chose UNLV but I still think we came out better by getting a 4 year player like BDJ. RV would have thrived much better in Hoiberg's system but that is his mistake he will have to live with. He may have to stick around in college ball another year if he keeps up his lackluster performance.

I was really down when he spurned us, but wow BDJ is a better player... things worked out.
Rashad is dead to me.

Eh, it's hard to tell how good be actually is because he brought himself to that cesspool of a program and isn't even close to playing the role he would have with us. Kind of apples to oranges.

Those aren't necessarily "one and done" type numbers, but for a freshman, that's pretty good.

Would definitely agree though, if we get a player for just one year, I'd pick BDJ over Vaughn.

Vaughn isn't even listed as a draft prospect in this year or next years draft. Sure, he's putting up great numbers for a freshman but he doesn't have a chance to showcase his skills because of the team he plays for. Not sure how smart Vaughn is, but I'm sure he is smart enough to know that coming to play for us would've helped a ton more because scouts would get a chance to see him play in a pro style offense. Plus, with Hoiberg that 3PFG% would probably be a lot higher. Maybe Rice gets canned after this season and Vaughn decides to transfer here? It probably won't happen, but if he's smart he would consider this option since Rice is only hurting his draft stock and he definitely isn't going to the NBA at the end of the season and likely won't next year either while playing in that awful program of theirs.

I think the difference is Hoiberg. What RV is putting up right now sounds just like what BDJ was doing last year. Look how much better BDJ is doing this year under Hoiberg I really think RV numbers would look a lot better at ISU.

The first player picked in the 2013 NBA draft was Anthony Bennett who spent one year at UNLV (although he has done almost nothing in the NBA).

My guess is that Vaughn's plan has always been to leave school the day after his final game of his freshman year and apply for the draft. College plans were a 6 month basketball playing vacation in Vegas.

Here nor there
I am all for bashing his decision to go to play for UNLV over a chance to play at ISU, but his game and talent are great. Pull all the numbers you want, but he would be killing it in Hoiball and we would take him in a second.

Check out the draft express mock. I still wish he would've chosen us, getting a mcdonalds all American would be huge for this program.

Someday, he can transfer here if he wants to. He's got tremendous talent, just needs a coach to make him a star
