Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

If that is true, ouch. Can't imagine how Fred would feel spending years developing a relationship with this kid only to basically be tossed aside with an email once he chose somewhere else to play.

Well, not knowing a single thing about RV's character I will say if it is true, then it might not be the worst thing in the world for him to sign with someone else, if he doesn't come here.

Does anyone remember Kris Humphries? He was a one and done who we were in the running for when WM was coaching a number of years ago. He ended up signing with the Gophers and played for only one season before declaring for the draft. There are a number of sources who have stated that his Minnesota teammates couldn't stand him and that he behaved like a ginormous *********. Sometimes these incredible talents like Humphries turn out to be prima donnas who are more trouble than they're worth.

I'm not stating that RV is anywhere close to that kind of kid, but it would put at least a bad taste in my mouth if he had his handler take care of his communication for him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

You don't need sources to figure out RV is going to UNLV. It officially became a done deal when it was disclosed that he was announcing his selection on CBS Sports Net, home of the the MWC. UNLV steered RV to announce it there. The B12 doesn't have a deal with CBS Sports Net.

Also, most here are WAY too emotionally attached to uncommitted recruits and I'm sure that immaturity will be displayed after his announcement later today.

ISU of all teams should know that just because a recruit uses the schools facilities/resources doesn't mean he's going to that school.

Well that didn't take long.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Step one: Hear rumor

Step two: Accept rumor as completely true

Step three: Go off on a rant

You forgot at least 3 steps. How about this:

Step One: Hear Rumor
Step Two: Accept rumor as completely true
Step Three: Spread rumor attributing it to your sources very close to the situation
Step Four: ???
Step Five: Go off on rant
Step Six: Profit

I think you have to switch steps 4 and 5 in order to Profit

Kris met Kim and they made a lovely couple for 90 days on TV.

Step 1: Hear or make up rumor
Step 2: Spread that rumor and say "I can't classify my sources"
Step 3: Call people stupid when they discredit you
Step 4: People accept your name-calling as confidence and spread the rumor even further
Step 5: Go off on a rant
Step 6: Meltdown underway

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Believe it or not some people actually do have sources.

Prove it. People are saying they have sources when even Vaughn has admitted that nobody knows anything. I bet you also believe that the Rapture was going to happen a few years back like that one lunatic predicted. You're saying people have sources, yet they can't prove it. You're wrong and will believe anything.

You really don't know how this whole thing works do you? Are you gunna sit there and say everyone is lying except RV? Reporters, whose job it is to know things like this, are not gunna sit at their computers and just make **** up. At some point RV has indicated his preference to someone, and eventually that info gets to others. This is what's happen the past week.

Plus there have been multiple people on here that have heard RV is not coming. I don't know who their sources are, but I don't question either. They have been accurate in the past on different things, so I trust they're nit just trolling. Also, no one is gunna tell you, random fan on the internet, who their source is. Accept it if you wish, if not, don't ***** about it.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

I'm sure he found it after a "rashad vaughn" Twitter search.

This is the thing I find most interesting when looking at some of Rashad Vaughn and Pete Kaffey's retweets. They weren't tagged in them so they are obviously searching "Rashad Vaughn" to see what people are saying about him. It's like Googling yourself. Kinda weird.

First off, people posting in this thread with "sources" are not reporters. No one has reported "Vaughn is going to UNLV". They've only made guesses based on their info.

Secondly, for everyone who actually knows anything, there are hundreds (or more) people spreading rumors as "inside information" who are flat wrong, just guessing or making **** up. You should question ANYONE and EVERYONE who cites "inside sources" on an anonymous message board.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Somewhere, hundreds of posts ago, it was mentioned that RV was trying to procure a spot on the coaching staff for his handler... If UNLV agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes there. I only want RV, not RV and his handler. I'd rather avoid these sorts of situations as it'll set a bad precedent and likely mess with the team chemistry in the future. In fact, I'm probably more proud of how our last three teams have meshed and really cared about one another than I am about the success they've had (though the former likely has a lot to do with the latter). Fred has done an outstanding job meshing his players and encouraging the "family/brotherhood" mentality and I don't see how adding a staffer for a likely one-n-done would benefit the "team" ideology that CFH has instilled. As much as I'd love to have RV on this team, I really only want him if he's willing to buy in to the system and commit to the team. If he needs to feel special and be catered to, UNLV is more than welcome to have/deal with him. If he wants to commit to the team and play as a unit, I'll welcome him with open arms.

Probably simply a list on their twitter that posts all tweets with the words Rashad Vaugh in it. Not really a big deal. You can basically make a list for the separate things on twitter so you can follow things you really want to. You could separate ISU football follows from ISU basketball, fans from beat writers, and you could make a list that just tweets with a certain hashtag or keyword. Nothing really bad or weird about it.

Kaffey is in no way qualified for a job at a D1 university, no team could possibly justify hiring him as a coach. It would have to be a made up position or a very minor one somewhere outside the team.
