Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn is one of those guys where if he wants to go to your school, you'll make room for him somehow. Don't worry about # of scholarships, Fred would find a way. Trust me.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think our chances of landing Vaughn are better than say six months ago. I initially thought Rashad Vaughn coming to Iowa State was a long shot. But after reading some of his interviews and tweets on Twitter, I think we stand just a good of a shot at him as the heavy hitters.

We will see how close our contact is with Vaughn within the next year. Future visits by Vaughn to Ames, with the culmination of chatter from Vaughn about the Cyclones and fans I think are encouraging signs.

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds...

I agree we are a legit contender. Still an uphill battle, but he publicly has very good things to say about us. His selection criteria seem to match up well.

A big time guy like this has no reason to visit ISU multiple times and speak highly of us if he's not serious. I could understand if he were from Iowa, as appeasing the home town team is generally something recruits try to do (see Harrison). That of course is not the case with us as he has no reason to "give ISU fans hope" if he is not seriously interested.

Obviously he doesn't have to keep his options available in case his dream school falls out, because he will always pretty much have a spot on any team and he knows it.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

is that the pella junior high team he is going against? he obviously looks incredibly athletic, but the bulk of that competition...not so much.

Haha the 8th grade pella aau team is amazing, won state last year. They're split up between pella and PC but those guys are lights out.

Unc will be in the nit......ask Paige how unc is working out

I'm sure Paige is bummed he is starting for one of the most storied programs, not to mention the team he has been a life long fan of. I'm sure Maui was no fun at all either....

UNC will make the tournament.

They are 16-8 and 6-5 in conf with tough game left. They are at risk of being a high seed in tourney and could be left out with as bad as they are this year. Page has really struggled and I see UNC is bringing in another PG recruit as they have concerns at pg this year. But your right they are in as of now Texas beat them as well. I'd love to see a ISU UNC game this year beat down on the Tar Heels

Tough to beat Roy for any kid....seems like he has taken a kid or two out of Iowa in the last decade or so.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

ISU doesn't beat Roy for recruits.

UNC is basically in the exact same position as we are in regards to making the tourney so it's sort of funny to hear posters bash their team.

Also, when a team like UNC or Kentucky is down for a year like they are now it probably actually makes them even more attractive to big time recruits. Now you can go to UNC and be their savior.

Isu never had cfh, he's building a powerhouse and its only time until he gets the recruits like Roy.

Well ****, still have a chance right? Ol Roy is getting annoying. Just keep plugging away with him and others.

The ONLY chance we have is if Vaughn wants to stay close to home, or he just likes Fred better than Roy.

Everything else would point in UNC's favor I'm afraid.
