Re: Rashad Vaughn

If he is even contemplating the idea of being a 2 year player, then it may make even more sense for him to come to Iowa St. He'd run the risk of being recruited over if he goes to a blue blood program, and it looks as though Fred has a solid foundation for 14-15 & 15-16. Only lose Hogue after next year.

I didn't say he thinks he's a 2 year player. :) He's not afraid of getting recruited over.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It's pretty cool how we're all talking ourselves into Vaughn being with ISU for 2 years. I'm sure we'll somehow get that up to 3 years by Mid February.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Backlog of talent is building in college levels. RV will moire than likely be a two year college player wherever he goes. Just so much talent to choose from.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

IMO Rashad's one-and-done talk is a little overrated, he mentioned it as a goal he had. I am guessing every McDonalds AA probably has the same goal, that would help drive them to get better. RV should leave if he is considered a top 20 pick after his freshman year, as I believe Fred would advise any player to do. Rashad has the size and skill POTENTIAL to be one and done but there is a lot of basketball that will be played before the 2015 draft to see if that potential is realized. I don't think Vaughn would leave school if there is a solid chance he falls out of the 1st round.

He said he wouldn't go to college if he didn't have to.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

From the comments: "Think there ain't negativity at Iowa State, Nevada-Las Vegas, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina? Just miss a big free throw or make a couple errant passes and see." LOL. We must have a reputation for bagging on our players for missing free throws...

I'm not nearly that optimistic. Personally even if Vaughn signed a LOI with ISU I would fully expect the ISU Men's BB program to be shut down the next week. Anything we actually do get will be gravy to me.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

He said he wouldn't go to college if he didn't have to.

Yes, if he would be projected to be a first round pick out of high school I assume he would go pro. The post I was replaying to didn't have him projected as a pick. He isn't going pro to start in the D-League. If he is projected to be a first round pick after his freshman year, he sould go pro. Or if he has a good but not great freshman year and isn't a guarenteed first round pick I expect him to stay for his sophmore year.
At this time Last year eveyone expected the Harrison Twins to be one and dones... now that perception has changed. Harrison Barnes was suppose to be in college only one year too. Stocks change for better or worse.

Do you think RV will break Grayer's scoring record in his four years here?

4 years? What is this trash? 5 years with Vaughn. 5 years. We change our name to Duke and petition the NCAA for an extra year for no reason, and since our name is Duke they give it to us.

I was flipping back and forth between Dook-Syracuse and Boise-UNLV.

Holy crap, UNLV is total garbage.

I can't believe they'd be in the mix for this kid.

If there's any correlation between his talent level....and the ferociousness of certain CF posters chasing him around like a 16 year old girl.....then I assume he will break that record in year one.
