This is kinda soap boxy or maybe self-righteous? Not sure. Anyway, it's tough for me to get to work spot on 8am anymore these days. Between a baby still not sleeping through the night to help get ready/entertain/plus my own attempt to get ready and eat/etc. Most days I'm about 5 minutes late but not a big deal cause I never have meetings that early. Except for today. And I bust my butt to get out on time so I can get to this meeting on time. Get here and I see the vehicle for one organizer not here yet. Cool cool. Get up to the room, nothing. Go get coffee come back, nothing. Check email, nothing. Come back to my office with another attendee and we run into one of the organizers - 15 minutes late - being all oh I just got here. Yeah we can tell. Finally 35 minutes past time we get a note that the other organizer will be here shortly. And now they just stopped in to reschedule. That just grinds my gears. Like send a damn email or text or something to say you are running late. The part I'm really peeved about is I just knew they wouldn't be here on time but I got here anyway. And I'm always very apologetic if I get to a meeting more than 2 minutes past time. And try to send a note ahead if I know I'm running behind, it just seems like the courteous thing to do.
There is nothing worse than people that schedule early morning meetings and are then late for their own meeting.

Always went by the motto, if you are late (I give a couple minutes since I'm old and remember clocks and they werent all exactly the same) you are making the announcement that your time is more valuable than anyone else's time your are meeting with; and that is basically be a giant dbag. I don't put this on times where you don't have to meet with others. I am not a morning person, so I will quite often do some work after 10 at night when it gets kinda quiet in the house and can't work without flexible scheduling.

Fascia shouldn't be too bad to replace if DH is handy at all. It can be done off a ladder or on the roof fairly easily if the roof pitch is 6/12 or less. I would guess any of the home improvement stores would have that in stock, especially in white. The new piece probably won't match the existing in color exactly due to fading and weathering though. I also recommend getting color matched nails to attach with.

Dh likes to learn how to do stuff like this. He did mention the idea of fixing it from the roof. IDK how though because he'd have to hold it and nail in? IDK, we'll have to talk and get it done soon cause I don't like that the wood is exposed right now. He fixed one that had come loose last year on the roof above our patio but that was easier to get to.

I don't know your house specifically, but sometimes the roof edge flashing helps hold the fascia up temporarily since it is tucked up behind while you nail it on depending on type of roof edge. Also depending on what piece fell off, you may need to cut an angle on one end of the fascia to fit the peak of the roof. Knowing the pitch of the roof would be helpful in that case.

It never rains in California, but girl, don't they warn ya?
It pours, man, it pours

I know I'm different than most, but being late is a real pet peeve of mine. It's not only lazy, but disrespectful in some cases. Like yours. If you know you're going to be late, would it kill you to notify somebody?

/end rant

I can tell you from experience that this is not a good idea.

Spent the first couple of hours on a call that was considered a priority 2 and they were thinking of escalating it to a priority 1, either was a ridiculously high rating for this.
Pretty sure I figured out the problem and sent an email about 2 hours ago requesting them to verify if things were now working properly and no one responds.
