Yesterday, I was going to take the kids indoor rock climbing. We couldn't get in so we went to the Minneapolis Art Institute instead. I only saw one other person there wearing a baseball cap and it was a girl.

Any exciting plans for New Years?

Got about 25 folks coming over (our age down to 18 months old). About half are staying the night. We'll start cooking the nachos soon...we'll eat nachos & play games most of the night. MIght sound boring to the clubbers, but we have a great time...we've been doing it since our kids still lived at home, and some of their friends still come even when the kids don't make it back. :)

a friend had called hosting NYE earlier in the fall. Rest of us were a bit skeptical as they can be flaky. I had sort of wanted to host but took Halloween instead. Other friend said they'd be backup NYE hosts. December rolls around and no invite up. Talk to the husband of host at dodgeball and he's like yeah she's stressed about it but won't say no. We are like there are other people who will host. No response. Finally last weekend the backup friend is like ok maybe we should invite people. Asked if DH and I want to host. We are like um, we can but we have dinner plans (cause I'm smart and saw how this would go). So they said they would host. Only 4 people so far cause everyone already had plans plus three of the couples in our group are out of state/with family so that cuts our group down by about half. The original host rspvd "can't go", harumph.
Meanwhile, we saw a cousin at Xmas who lives up here and she invited us to her party tonight. Now backup host is semi-cancelling party to go to some concert thing downtown. So we need to text the other couple who were going and see if they want to come over after dinner or something because we have no interest in the concert. Or maybe we'll go to cousin's party. It's just all the way on the other side of town and DH and I didn't really feel like a 45 minute drive both ways.

So, we have a super early dinner and then not sure after that.

couple friends don't wish to go to concert thing either. So we're going to their place after dinner for port, prosecco, cheese, and board games. This sounds about perfect to me :)
Glad it worked out for you. I just put the chicken in the crock pot with the buffalo sauce for the mac and cheese, should be ready around 5. Need to run to HyVee for a few things and should probably start packing for my next training trip.
