Note to self. Maybe check email in case there is something in the inbox other than junk, spam and phishing attempts.

From today's daily email from the Iowa State Daily (whew), the preview for an article in the arts and culture section:

October is here, and the leaves are starting to turn. This can only mean one thing: it is officially fall. And what better way to get into the fall spirit than to sit on the couch and watch a good movie?

In a well-meaning but dumb attempt to write an intriguing lead, the writer (and editor) fail.

Does anyone in central Iowa have T-mobile? Thinking of switching to a carrier that utilizes the t-mobile network but unsure of how good it is around here.

Yes, I've had it for a couple of years now. I had it probably 10 years ago, and it was sketch in certain parts of Iowa. For the last two years I've had it, I've never noticed an issue anywhere I've been. The only part of the state that I haven't been is the far southeast of the state.

To be fair, I never had issues with Verizon anywhere in the state either.

With all of that said, I can't confirm that companies like Mint, who use their network, have the same kind of coverage. Not sure how that works.

Generally it should be identical with the caveat that the primary networks traffic gets priority. So in situations like on gamedays at Jack Trice you might notice increased issues compared to others.

Any car folks in the RTT? My little sedan took a dump. Needs a new radiator. My car guy says $900. That crazy or reasonable? Got a ton of miles on it but I’m a believer in driving an old car that occasionally needs money in it vs a car payment (especially nowadays)

Given what it costs to have anything done on your car, I don't think that is an awful price.
They quoted me over $400 to put a new antenna on my pickup, I bought one for about $120 and figured out how to do it myself.

That was kind of my thinking too but I’m not a car guy so have no idea. I generally trust my mechanic but you just never know. I’d watch YouTube and do it myself like most things but with bigger car stuff, I just don’t have the skills.

I wouldn't want to do it myself, big difference between a radiator and an antenna
