Be careful posting those pictures. If you post one of a stock of TP, you might find your house getting robbed.

Where I live, I make that distinction. This isn’t my town, I’m just trapped here until the last kid graduates or the school merges. Thinking of running for school board and saying we need to consolidate.

I don’t know what to believe with any of this. It seems to be 90% rumors and even the facts seem to change hourly.

My professor just tried to record his computer screen during lecture as a trial run for teaching online. It went so badly that he couldn't even connect to the projectors anymore so he had to resort to writing on the marker board. These next few weeks could get interesting.

This is my last day on campus. The online teaching doesn't go into effect until after break. There's definitely a weird vibe on campus. Noticeably fewer kids in class or even out and about, and the people that are going to class have an almost cautious attitude about them. It's not like the excitement there is the day before a big snow storm that might cancel classes. Ominous is the word I'd use.

Any Harry Potter fans on here? I heard someone describe it as when the Chamber of Secrets is opened in the second book/movie and people are talking about Hogwarts having to close and no one really seems to have a good handle on the situation. Maybe not that extreme but I thought it was a good comparison.

Oldest is on campus too. Said it’s like a sign up thing and justification for after spring break. He had everything cancelled but has one test he has to take beforehand. He hasn’t given me much info, about to tell him to loot the bathrooms for TP and he might be able to get a semester paid for it on the black market.

From what I can tell they're asking everyone to go home unless they don't have a home to go to. Then they can fill out a form to stay in the dorms. The CCEE department sent out an email this morning offering to provide laptops to those who might not have access to one at home.

I'm thinking the off-the-grid cabin I'm currently living in is the place to be if this really is the apocalypse. The solar panels and the windmill are still there and can be hooked back up when the power grid fails, there's plenty of wood around for my stove, the river is a hundred yards down the hill, and I have a whole deer in the freezer from last fall. I'm set.

    CG's post reminded me...

Helping out on the floor, had a guy come through my line with 6 bottles of Jameson...and TP. And pop and some other stuff. I think Jameson is on special. #DontDrink

Tonight at the grocery store was definitely peak-coronavirus-panic, at least up to this point... I was getting a "grocery store after The Mist rolls in" vibe in there.

I went to Fareway this afternoon just to grab a few things (canned food, Mac & cheese, cinnamon rolls—just the necessities) should we have to have limited time away from home. It was mostly the older crowd at 3pm. Our Fareway has actually had TP every time I have gone there.

My parents had given our 14yr old an “experience” for Christmas which was tickets to see Waitress tonight at CY Stephens. They went on as planned. Hubby flew out to San Diego today for a planned golf trip with his dad and brothers. Hoping he can get back home next week . . .

I am so jealous!!!! I want to see Waitress so badly....

Fingers crossed for your husband. I can't believe he isn't worried about getting stuck there.

Edit: Also, looks like its pretty certain Katey's high school softball season is going to get wiped out. This was her last chance at getting to state with these seniors. She and two other girls are the only juniors we've got. Today was her 17th birthday, and this is one she will never forget. There were so many announcements of things being cancelled today, and she was with me at the store... it just felt like the beginning of one of those apocalypse movies, but for real.

We will obviously have to see how things pan out, but this is one time where it may be advantageous that we play such a wonky softball season. Practice is slated to start beginning of May.

One thing we were going to get done over spring break was to find a prom dress. Now do we even worry about it? I am more concerned they will cancel the April ACT date (same day as prom).

Looks like they are cancelling and closing everything in NY. All travel sites and numbers are jammed or the companies have ran away from them. So it appears we are going to pee away 3k down our legs or take a risk of not being able to get back.

Have some cash from a sale coming in tomorrow. If we don't go, I'm sticking it in stocks for about three to five months and rolling the dice that I can get a 5-10% return and get this money back.

And not panicking, still have 50.5 bottles of wine on hand.

Popped cork on an old bottle that's been in my cellar for like 10 years. Dusted it off and was guessing it was probably skunked out but it wasn't and was totes delish.

Bought two dumbbells at Wallymart this afternoon so I can at least do some toning stuff at home if I decide not to go to germ gym. The price stickers are all ****** up so I had to Google the Wallymart site on the phone to get the price, not like I could ask peeps that work there. Went through self check under the eyes of two employees. Walk 15 feet after that carrying the dumbbells, you don't put them in a sack, and get challenged by the door minion. I've got the receipt in my hand. He asks to see my receipt and after a couple fails he get's it scanned and than ******* scans the two items. I am not sure he could read. Than he asks if it is just these two. Now I am pretty sure he cannot count. I stifled the response of "No, I got another couple dumbbells stashed away in my back pocket" and also the "Yeah, two, just like the ******* receipt says. Two." ******* Wallymart. Only 2nd time I've gone to one of these in Minnesota.
