It blows my mind how many people think that it's CSP's job to fix every little thing when in reality it's his job to prepare these men to do it themselves. The players haven't lived up to their end of the deal in that regard.

These are Prohms guys. And you may say its not his job to fix every little thing, but has he fixed ANY little thing? And regardless, it is his job to fix things. If you arent going to hold a coach accountable for their play on the court what can you hold him accountable for? I appreciate Prohm seems like a nice guy and is probably running a clean program, but coaches at this level get held accountable for the play on the court.

Nobody is saying that Prohm doesn't have any responsibility in all of this but we have a lot of fans overestimating what he can even do to fix this.
I'm starting to wonder if we don't have some prima donas on this team that have a hard time not being the star of the team. Just judging by body language of a few guys.
I believe many of these issues reside in decisions made my CSP. Ever since last yr we thought Wigs would be driving this offense and starting. Game 1 he did.. He never got that back for almost 30 games. That would weigh like crazy on guy who has NBA hopes and came into the season thinking he had a great opportunity. An injury and a coaches decision now keep you from that. You are going to get ticked. Others guys are going to see one of their friends and their old leaders just snubbed and will jump to his side.
Now amplify this type of thing across Tally, Lard, not playing Zion at all, not letting Condit expand his role, etc. You are wielding a really heavy hand in that locker room.
When players start distrusting a coach it is over. Steve has always played historically shallow rotations, wielding the suspension card heavily, and doesn't seem to have great development plans for his players.
Add all this and you got some cracks in the foundation.

So which players haven’t lived up to their end of the deal? I assume those guys aren’t getting to play then. If instead it’s the whole team, wouldn’t that be on the coach?
Name one thing he has under control. They don’t play D, they don’t play offense, they stand around and apparently don’t have an offense to run, they don’t work hard, the team chemistry is awful, players are out injured because they were physically fighting, players are fighting on the court,they are getting run off the court by the bottom teams in the league.
You said prohm can’t fix everything. He hasn’t fixed anything. This team and their performance IS HIS JOB
ISU isn't the only team to lose their **** and I think some people are practically seeing it that way.
Some years, with some teams, work groups, family stuff, whatever, issues don't get resolved no matter what, and no matter who's in charge.
There are obviously things going on that he has minimal control over and those issues have affected performance. If the players aren't working things out with each other do you really think x's and o's are going to mask it?
Yeah i get that but I'm starting to get the impression that this isn't just between 1 or 2 guys...
The decisions he makes create these issues....never really thought of it that way. Yes, I can imagine Wiggy would be pretty pi$$ed about coming off the bench all year, when he has aspirations beyond his playing days at Iowa State. Prohm has arguably not set him up for great success this year. I don't know if he has DESERVED to start, but maybe Wiggy is one of those mental players that would be playing better if he carried that starter status. Don't really know. What I do know is that he has given certain players too long of a leash. THT plays too many minutes. Haliburton plays too many minutes. The lineup has needed adjusting. Timeouts to stop runs have come too late. Prohm has not answered the call. Talley has wasted his final year of eligibility rotting on the bench. Lewis is that offensive spark plug we have needed at various times this season, and he has rotted on the bench. Conditt is finally getting his due, but again, the timing was too late. And now everyone is angry with each other. Prohm has made this bed, and now he must lay in it.
For the record, this post is not me calling for his head. I'm willing to see how next year goes before getting that drastic.
Worst one I ever saw here was 1986-87. Coming off a sweet 16. Grayer Thompkins Elmer Sam Hill and Tom Schafer.
Grayer and Schafer were the only things making that team worth watching.
Also the 89-90 team that thought they were going to have Mack and Baugh was pretty brutal too.

Of definitely. At this point just from observations it looks like there's fewer (that play) that AREN'T having issues than there are.
He gets paid millions to do these things, and he has failed this year.
My whole thing is we all were so excited for this year and this team had so much potential and talent and then the season started and they have been so up and down and now all out awful. Prohm can recruit but IMO it is really starting to show that he cant coach as well as someone in a p5 school needs to coach. At this level you need to be able to get the guys and put those guys in a situation that they can win. No time outs when needed, no offensive plays and not doing what is needed to keep the team playing well together and keep the team moral high or at least good enough they can stand each other when playing together. It is a not so good trend that keeps going. He came in and took over a team that loved each other and was great. Then his high recruits came in and things have gone south. They win some games because they have hot shooting nights and because of pure talent but the coaching all ways shows its true colors come crunch time

Counting on reading post-season interviews where Prohm admits that "maybe I could have gone to the bench more or started Lindell, that's something I wondered about and that's my fault." Yes Steve, it is. At some point you have to be held accountable for your lack of coaching. Being an open, honest nice guy doesn't serve as an acceptable replacement for doing your f***ing job.
