Found this article in the Sports Illustrated website with multiple analysts gushing about Iowa State this early in the season:

https://www.si.com/college-basketball/2018/12/04/surprise-teams-wisconsin-iowa-state-michigan

Found this other one on ESPN. If you scroll down to the Kansas section you'll read some good things about Iowa State.

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...041/real-fake-month-college-basketball-season

"Iowa State seems to be the most dangerous challenger to Kansas right now. The Cyclones are playing top-20 offense and defense right now. And that's without Lindell Wigginton, who has been sidelined because of a left foot injury after averaging 16.1 points and connecting on 40 percent of his 3-pointers last season. Some NBA scouts believe the Cyclones have four pro prospects (Wigginton, Talen Horton-Tucker, Marial Shayok and Tyrese Haliburton). This is a fascinating, small-ball squad."

Just gotta keep it going.

If it's a loss tonight, big time for the freshman to learn how to get over a stupid loss.

Thanks for sharing,,,

Guess were going to need a "Were not going to have Tyrese Haliburton for 4 years" thread now too. ;-)

Honestly this Cyclone team could have six future pro prospects Wigginton, Talen Horton-Tucker, Marial Shayok and Tyrese Haliburton as mentioned in the article/ Lard has the potential and I could see even NWB getting a G-league look and developing like Nader/Mitrou Long.

Correction 5 pro prospects with Lard

Not that long ago, Prohm said Babb was the best pro prospect on the team. Our top 7 are on par talent-wise with the top teams in the conference. Going to be an exciting season.

I was gonna comment on this, and psi somewhat touched on it. But NWB is the oft-forgot player on this team by national media people. I think his style of play is a huge part of our team's ability and how it functions. Obviously, we have more options around him than we did last year, so what is expected of him scoring wise will not be as big of a deal, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't at least get a summer league shot with someone.

Love the way this team plays. Great chemistry for so many new pieces...props to Coach!
Lots of youth, so expecting some bumps along the way, but love watching them play.

Am I the only one who Haliburton has pretty much completely snuck up on? I liked the length at the point and the long term potential, but did not see him being this much of an impact player. Granted, he has probably been the biggest beneficiary of Wigg's injury from a minutes and experience standpoint so that has something to do with it. The physical game is impressive, but his savvy and b-ball IQ make him a really good all around player. Offensively and defensively, he's in the right spot a LOT of the time, and that's no accident.

Big tip of the cap to Prohm for landing him along with the rest of this freshman class.

Halliburton has really been a pleasant surprise. I knew he would be a good player but I thought he would need time to find his place but he leap frogged Lewis day one. Future is bright.

Nick is the glue. Horton-Tucker, Halliburton, Wigginton, Lard, et al, are the glitter.

But Haliburton needed to gain so much weight to be effective!.......;)

Talking about four NBA prospects without mentioning Lard who could have the most NBA ready body is a sign we have a lot of talent.
