Per the call in show. Said it could be anywhere between 55-65K. Said if he had to guess somewhere around 60K.

I don't really see the problem with that.

Actually there is nothing wrong with 55k, but people need to complain.

Did he specify if that meant actual seats or total with the hills?

I want 61,000. Put us just ahead of OK State, Texas Tech, & West Virginia.

That would include the north hillside.

60,000 seats and luxury boxes around the top. You could make a lot of bond payments with the rental from 10 more suites.

Havent they had issues selling the suites they have now? I know people who have suites and seems there have been open ones.

Must have sold well enough that JP sold his own suite so as to get the extra revenue..

Right now we have ~43,000 real seats in the stadium. Capacity up to 53,000 + 6,800 hillside seats on the north end is an addition of 10,000 real seats which is huge.

"17-18 year olds buy with their eyes" -CPR yesterday.

Our coaches use having the 20th largest scoreboard (I know we've moved down last 2 years) as a selling point to recruits. You don't think coaches would like to say we have the 3rd largest stadium in the Big 12 Conference?

    It sounds good to me.

Can advertise the stadium as one of the biggest stadiums in the conference.

Yep, the 2008 RDg drawings show a bowled in stadium capacity of 53,000. Plus approximately 7,000 on the north hillsides would bring the total to 60,000. You are right on the money.

EDIT: In adding up RDg's own numbers from their plans, I come up with a proposed stadium seating capacity of 53,200. Then if we add 6,800 for the north hillsides that would bring the total proposed stadium capacity to 60,000. Jamie is a numbers man, I'm sure that he'll find a way to up the capacity to 61,000.
