Sounds familiar. Iowa State has needed a better QB for a long time, and then Purdy comes along, problem solved! A top notch QB can make all the difference.
And yet, per KFAB this morning, they are "fine" with Martinez at QB. The issue is..."WTF has changed at Nebby over since last year...or the year before that...or the year before that?" Absolutely nothing...expecting things to magically change in 2021 given the exact same situation is the very definition of husker insanity....and the reason why they have had 32 players hit the transfer portal over the past few years. By the way, Iowa has had 14 and Iowa State has had 12 in the same time period.

I doubt any of them get an offer anywhere except mediocre programs. Like most of that team, they just didn't develop like they had hoped.

Here in Omaha the radio discussion this morning was that they just need to get through 2021 and then the schedule gets easier and the Huskers will start winning. Can you imagine? The Husker fan attitude (for some, at least) is we just need to play a bunch of weak teams, then we will have a winning team. Somewhat surprising to even hear that admission.

And this was the Nebraska Football Program that was "Going to show the Big Ten how to WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The Nebraska Football Program will never win a Big Ten Title because they NO longer have a multitude (I don't have the real figure) of Walk On's like in the Osborne Era....
Good Luck Big Red Fans ...Your Going to Need it...

They can't get the multitude of partial qualifiers, either.

Hopefully Gunnerson leaves too...I'm pretty sure he would transfer to Iowa State if we offered him. If not mistaken it came down to us and Nebraska.

Now they are taking shots at Sage Rosenfels for his tweet.

"Nebraska football reminds me of the time that Army used to have a highly regarded nationally ranked football program. Btw, two of these players are sons of former NFL players. Their dads know a bad culture when they see one."

He is referring to Kade Warner and Luke McCaffrey. Both dads played in the NFL. On 1620thezone this morning the host said Sage is just taking a cheap shot at a team that used to beat up on the Cyclones annually.

Everything at Nebraska is "used to". It would suck to be them. They were the pretty, hot popular girl in high school that got fat and plunked out 5 kids. Iowa State is the Nerdy tall dork that played Violin, then hit her stride 5 years after high school and now is smokin hot.

So.....in your example, Nebraska would be Yasmine Bleeth?

Same goes for Iowa and the trolls on this board.

Way up there
Things have been getting dicey in Lincoln for awhile, it doesn't make them a better team but the **** show that would have been '21 with both of those QB's back would have been a major distraction. Martinez/McCaffery split the fan base, Ive even seen a lot of divide when talking about the transfers. The zealots are digging in on their support of Frost and see them competing for the CFP soon, the semi-brainwashed are concerned about him but still think they can win the big 10 next year, the .00001% of them that are level headed are just bummed because they see they are turning on one of their own.

The declines of Callahan and Riley were really fun to watch but watching them devour a Nebraska born golden boy from the Osborne years is going to be glorious.

He's had a bit of an unusual relationship with the Cornholer fans.....

Let's enjoy and relive the Scott Frost initial Husker press conference:

"Easily the quote of the press conference came when Frost was asked how he would modify his system - derived from the famous high-octane scheme originated by Chip Kelly at Oregon - to adjust to the competition in the Big Ten.

“I’m hoping the Big Ten has to modify their system for us,” Frost said confidently, resulting in a loud cheer from the group of current and former players and NU administration.

Frost made his coaching name on bringing that explosive offense to UCF, as the Knights led the nation in scoring and averaged more than 500 yards per game this season.

But Frost said his system goes far beyond just what his teams do with the football.

“We’re going to work harder than everybody else,” Frost said. “That’s what Nebraska’s about. We’re going to be a more united team than everybody else. That’s what Nebraska’s about. And we’re going to work your tails off in the weight room and be stronger and more physical and tougher than everybody else, because that’s what Nebraska’s about.”

Was just reading the replies to Sage's tweet. Lots of salty Nebraska fans. Can you imagine making fun of someone because they were a career back up in the NFL for over a decade?

Sage seems to get that response with about every semi-controversial tweet he makes.

Be nice to have Kurt promoting ISU if his son ends up here
I know Kurt was not happy after going to ohio state game in Lincoln year before last to watch Kade. At the time he wasn't really paying attention to iowa state. His nfl network job seems to take alot if his focus.
